A California detective died from coronavirus complications after doctors twice refused to test her for the virus, according to a report Sunday. When Santa Rosa Det. Marylou Armer, 43, was finally tested March 23, the test came back positive, the Santa Rosa Police Department reported. A field hospital under construction in Michigan has scaled back its number of beds from 1,000 to 250 as the state adapts to its changing needs in the ongoing battle against the coronavirus, officials said . The Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, a city located 25 miles from Detroit, was initially announced last week as the state’s second massive field hospital to help relieve overcrowded hospitals. "Originally we were looking at up to 1,100 (beds),” Nick Zager, chief of alternate health care projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Detroit district told Crain’s Detroit. “But things are changing very quickly." Michigan's 2nd Alternate Care Facility at the Suburban Collection Showcase in Novi. With 75 personnel dedicated to the Detroit District ACF Team, the district is uniquely postured to rapidly respond to this mission, ready to work for MI as missions arrive from FEMA.
