A new communications satellite attempted to make its way into for Indonesia called Nusantara Dua via a China Great Wall Industry Corporation launch using a Long March-3B/G2 (Chang Zheng-3B/G2) rocket. The launch took place at 11:46 UTC from the LC2 pad at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center, but reportedly failed during third stage flight. The satellite is understood to have already reentered and has thus been destroyed. The satellite, based on the Chinese DFH-4 platform, was to be used by PT Pasifik Satelit Nusantara (PSN) in cooperation with telecommunication service provider PT Indosat Ooredoo and PT Pintar Nusantara Sejahtera (PNS), to provide broadband internet access and high-quality broadcasting services. Reports from China noting an issue with the Long Marchโ€™s third stage has resulted in the mission being classed as a failure.
Surgeon General Jerome Adams has been met with outrage by the black community for using phrases like 'abuela', 'big momma' and 'poppop', while pleading for minorities to not drink or smoke and follow the government's guidelines to slow the spread of the coronavirus . 'We need you to do this if not for yourself than for your abuela. Do it for your granddaddy, do it for your big momma, do it for your poppop,' the nation's top doctor said Friday at the daily coronavirus taskforce briefing - while also advising those groups to 'avoid alcohol, tobacco and drugs.' Adams told Americans of color that they need to 'step up' to stop the spread of coronavirus, and said 'social ills' are likely a contributing factor when looking at the dire statistics that the outbreak has killed twice as many black and Latino people than white Americans.
The United States has reached a grim milestone in the fight against coronavirus, passing Italy to become the country with the most deaths in the world. A tally by Johns Hopkins University showed Saturday that 18,860 people have now died in the U.S. since the start of the outbreak. On Saturday, 2,108 people died in the U.S. in the past 24 hours โ€“ the first country in the world to record more than 2,000 deaths in a single day. As a result, the U.S. has now overtaken Italy's total of 18,849. It has recorded more than 505,000 cases. However, experts on the White Houseโ€™s coronavirus task force suggested the outbreak within Americaโ€™s borders is starting to level off slowly, Fox News reported.

Millions of Americans may be staying at home over Easter weekend due to the coronavirus pandemic, but forecasters are warning a storm system is bringing the threat for strong tornadoes starting Saturday as a snowstorm targets the country's northern tier. The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center (SPC) said that severe thunderstorms are expected Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning from west Texas into parts of Oklahoma, before a significant "outbreak" into the Southeast on Easter. "We've got a lot of weather going on including some really big severe weather tomorrow on Easter Sunday, so a lot of people need to be watching this, some really big tornadoes that we're going to be watching," Fox News Chief Meteorologist Rick Reichmuth said.
