Surveillance video capturing the crash shows a pickup truck making a left turn in the intersection before another vehicle slams into it broadside, at high speed, and bursts into flames.
A fifteenth American has #coronavirus, US officials announced Thursday. The latest patient is among the evacuees from Wuhan being held in quarantine at JBSA-Lackland and is the first confirmed case in Texas. The US is bracing for the new coronavirus that has now struck 60,000 people worldwide to spread in the US, officials said the previous day. Wednesday night, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) confirmed a fourteenth American had tested positive for the infection, now known as COVID-19. So far, there have been just two known cases of human-to-human transmission in the US but, after hopeful signs the outbreak might be subsiding, China Thursday reported a huge surge of more than 14,000 new cases and more than 240 deaths.

A woman in West Virginia remains hospitalized after she was seriously injured Monday by a rockslide that sent a massive boulder careening onto a highway. The Morgantown Police Department said in a news release that around 3:30 p.m. on Monongahela Boulevard "a very large boulder" fell from the top of the hillside across the roadway. West Virginia was among several states that had heavy rains this week, causing flash flooding and some landslides across the South. Flooding in the state already forced school closures due to high water. Officials in Morgantown said the boulder crashed into the path of a vehicle operated by 65-year-old Susan Cramer of Morgantown. Cramer then struck the boulder, and sustained "several severe injuries," according to police. She was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital, officials said Tuesday, where she is being treated for several broken bones and internal injuries requiring surgery.

At a Wednesday press conference, Antley said the department was widening the search area beyond the Churchill Heights community where she disappeared, Fox Carolina reported. Chief Byron Snellgrove of the Cayce Department of Public Safety said itโs possibleโฆ
The frantic search for Faye Marie Swetlik, a 6-year-old girl who mysteriously vanished in front of her South Carolina home Monday, has entered its fourth day as hundreds of police and FBI investigators continue piecing together evidence. Investigators are now looking for the drivers of two unfamiliar vehicles seen in the Churchill Heights neighborhood of Cayce, S.C., around the time Faye was last seen. The Cayce Department of Public Safety late Wednesday released new video of the cars, which appear to be a Chevy Trailblazer SUV and a sedan. Police said they hope to identify and interview the occupants. โWeโre still exploring every possibility to bring Faye home," Cayce Public Safety Officer Sgt. Evan Antley said. No evidence has pointed to a kidnapping, but investigators said they have not ruled out abduction or other possibilities, like she walked away from her home or was harmed by someone she knew. The department also provided a tip line, (803) 205-4444, for anyone with information to call.
A chilling video shows the last moments of a 24-year-old middle school teacher in California before she was gunned down in her car by a man police now believe to be a serial killer responsible for six deaths. Nancy Magana was sitting in the car in San Bernardino with her boyfriend and five-year-old son on August 17, 2019, when they were approached by a man her boyfriend could not identify and Magana was fatally shot. The young mother, described as her 'son's superhero', was the first victim in a string of four unexplained deadly shootings in the past year that investigators now believe may have been carried out by the same gunman or gunmen. A manhunt is underway for possible serial killers as authorities in San Bernardino asked the public for help in solving the string of shootings that left six dead in total on the city's west side between August 2019 and January 2020. Anyone with information about the shootings is urged to contact Sgt Albert Tello at 909-384-5613

The US Army has reportedly suspended a drill sergeant as it investigates an alleged assault at its premier infantry school in Ft. Benning in Georgia. The incident first came to light in a video posted on Twitter Friday by the account US Army WTF? Moments. The video reportedly shows a group of service members with shaved heads-- believed to be undergoing basic training--in a room resembling a barracks. According to Business Insider, Fort Benning spokesman Ben Garrett said the installation was 'aware' of the 'recent' incident, adding that the drill sergeant was 'suspended pending the outcome' of the investigation. In a statement to Insider, Garrett said 'The language used and behavior portrayed in the video posted to online social media platforms are not consistent with US Army Values of treating all with dignity and respect.' Drill sergeants and instructors are not allowed to hit their recruits. #wtf, Army?
