Internet falls in love with dog named Jubilee who was abandoned for being ‘weird looking’. An adorable dog named Jubilee is in need of a forever home. The Husky House, based out of New Jersey, put out a plea on Facebook and many folks are already expressing interest. According to the animal rescue, the four-year-old female husky came from a breeder who said they couldn’t sell her because she was “weird looking.” Jubilee is a fan of other dogs but does not like cats. She also loves people, however, she is said to be a little shy. Unfortunately, Husky House does not do do long distance adoptions.
A city official in Virginia showed support for the Second Amendment earlier this week by bringing an AR-15-style semiautomatic rifle to a city council meeting, FOX News reported. The move by Portsmouth Councilman Nathan Clark came as the council was to consider making the city a “Second Amendment Constitutional City” – placing it in symbolic opposition to gun-control efforts underway in the newly Democrat-controlled state Assembly. The proposal, debated before a capacity audience in the council chambers, passed 4-3, according to the Virginian-Pilot of Norfolk. Clark’s gesture also came as the state prepares for a controversial gun-rights rally scheduled for Monday in Richmond, the state capital. But he apparently angered at least two members of the council in Portsmouth, an Atlantic coast city about 97 miles from Richmond.

Protesters opposed to the French government’s proposed changes to the pension system tried to force their way into a theater in Paris where President Emmanuel Macron attended a show with his wife, Reuters reported. A crowd gathered outside the Theater Des Bouffes du Nord on Friday evening after the couple had arrived to watch a performance of La Mouche. Videos on social media showed protesters chanting “Macron resign” and at one stage trying to enter the venue near the Gare du Nord train terminus in northern Paris. “There was an attempted invasion of the theater but the presidential couple was able to remain until the end of the play and left the venue by car around 10pm with a police escort,” a source close to Macron said.

Raleigh police have released a series of videos captured on officers’ body-worn and dash cameras during what police said was a use-of-force arrest on January 14. The videos are related to the arrest of Braily Andres Batista-Concepcion around 10 a.m. on Jan. 14 on Navaho Drive (video 1). Chief Cassandra Deck-Brown said the videos were “hard to watch.” “No officer wants to use force,” Deck-Brown said on Friday. Court documents show Batista-Concepcion is accused of leaving the scene of two traffic collisions. Raleigh police said at 9:30 a.m., Batista-Concepcion was involved in a traffic collision on Wake Forest Road near St. Albans Drive. Batista-Concepcion drove off from the scene where at least two vehicles were damaged. A short time later, officers spotted a vehicle driving erratically near Navaho Drive and pulled that vehicle over. Initially, Batista-Concepcion refused to place his hands on the steering wheel. 👮🏻‍♂️

Striking musicians and singers of the Paris Opera, France, staged an open-air concert on Saturday in front of the city’s historic opera house in protest against a pension reform that seeks to end their special retirement scheme, Reuters reported. The musicians were cheered on by colleagues including ballerinas who last month performed scenes from Swan Lake at the same spot in a similar protest over the proposed pensions overhaul. President Emmanuel Macron’s plan to merge France’s various pension schemes into a single system has triggered more than a month of strikes, particularly in public transport. However, concessions by the government, notably a delay to a move to raise the age at which workers can claim a full pension from 62 to 64, have contributed to a waning in strikes.
