7.62mm M1895 Nagant revolver converted into a carbine with a detachable shoulder stock. The folding bayonet really puts it over the top. As the Nagant is a gas seal design, you can actually hold onto the fore-end without worrying about hot gasses from the cylinder gap.

A young girl is safe and a Massachusetts man is in custody hours after police say he abducted the 11-year-old after she got off a school bus. Charlotte Moccia was reported missing by State Police Wednesday after they said she was seen being forced into a carโ€ฆ
Video footage showed Charlotte on Lafayette Street as she made her way home from Hampden Charter School of Science. Miguel Rodriguez, 24, forced the little girl into a blue Honda Civic near the corner of Princeton and Amherst streets at 1.26pm on Wednesday, 'not long after she got off her school bus' in Springfield. A couple drove 100mph to keep up with a man who had abducted an 11-year-old girl, leading the arrest of the kidnapper and the safe return of the child. Amanda Disley is heard on the phone telling a 911 dispatcher 'they're trying to lose me' and 'he's blowing through red lights' as they frantically try not to lose the car containing Charlotte Moccia.
The National Weather Service said the storm will hit portions of the Central Plains, Upper Midwest and the Northeast though Sunday. It has already dropped up to two feet of snow in the Northwest while bringing 80mph wind gusts. In the Central and Midwest regions, the NWS said that travel is likely to be impacted due to snow and ice covered roadways. Significant snow accumulations are most likely in portions of Minnesota, northern Iowa, Wisconsin and Michigan. In the southern Plains and Mid-Mississippi Valley, forecasters said there will be possible 'impactful freezing rain accumulations'. On Saturday and Sunday, snow and ice accumulations will hit the Northeast and New England. โ„๏ธโ˜ƒ๏ธ

North Miami Beach Police and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units responded to the tracks at Northeast 171 Street and Dixie Highway just before 4.15pm. The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon in North Miami Beach where a Mini Cooper drove past the railroad crossing and ended up stranded in the tracks, smack in the path of the Brightline train. The car rolled forward and was struck head on by the train. No one was injured.
A pickup truck slammed into an Illinois Starbucks, injuring several people and causing massive damage to the coffee shop, police said. Patrick Polidori, public affairs officer for McHenry police, told The Associated Press that the driver and four people inside the cafe were injured. Fire and rescue personnel extracted one person from beneath the vehicle, police said in a statement. Police said it wasn't known why the Dodge Ram ran off the roadway in McHenry, about 50 miles northwest of Chicago, and struck a vehicle at the drive-thru window before colliding with the building. The police department closed a portion of Route 120 after the crash and advised motorists to avoid the area.
Nearly a quarter of the world's countries saw a dramatic surge in civil unrest last year, a trend that is likely to continue into 2020, a new study has warned. Analysts predict that as many as 75 nations will see violence and demonstrations break-out this year, according to the report published today. Hong Kong, Chile, Nigeria, Sudan, Haiti and Lebanon were among the 47 states that saw significant rise in protests in 2019. But data published by socio-economic and political analysis firm Verisk Maplecroft, predicted that this year will see that number increase to 75 countries. Hong Kong and Chile were deemed the world's 'riskiest locations' in terms of the severity and frequency of protests since the beginning of last year. The report also predicted that the situation was unlikely to improve in either country over the next two years. Countries categorised as 'extreme risk' included Ethiopia, India, Pakistan and Zimbabwe. ๐ŸŒ

An avalanche at Alpine Meadows ski resort in Northern California killed at least one person and severely injured another. The Sierra Avalanche Center warned of a possible avalanche at all elevations following a storm that passed through the area on Thursday. The storm reportedly brought 25 inches of snow in 24 hours. The Placer County Sheriff's Office posted an update on Twitter, saying it had dispatched a search and rescue team to look for survivors. "PCSO deputies & our Tahoe Nordic Search & Rescue (TNSAR) team has responded to #AlpineMeadows Ski Resort for avalanche near the Subway ski run," the tweet read. "One fatality and one serious injury confirmed." Law enforcement officers performed a search of the area with the help of #K9 units and do not believe there are any additional survivors to be found.
