A shooting at a senior housing complex in Rhode Island late Thursday morning left two people dead - including the gunman - and two others injured, police said. State police told the Providence Journal and WPRI-TV that the shooting unfolded at a housing complex for the elderly in Westerly, a town along the Connecticut state line, reported FOX News. Westerly Police Chief Shawn Lacey told reporters that investigators reviewed surveillance footage to track down the suspect in one of the apartment units. When police breached the room, the suspect appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said. Investigators determined that the suspect was a 66-year-old who lived at the facility. Another resident, also 66, was shot and killed, while two workers, ages 38 and 47, were injured and rushed to nearby hospitals, Lacey said. One of the injured was in critical condition and the other was in stable condition after surgery.

Take a good look at this picture. This is Sgt. Majorie Jordan of the Jersey City Police Department. Sgt. Jordan abandoned her position of cover and ran out into the open to the aid of her police officer that was shot in the shoulder. She assisted him to his feet and got him to safety, all while taking heavy gunfire. Zoom in the pic and remember her face, that his the face of a true hero warrior who risked her own life for that of her officer. Thank you Sgt. Jordan for your heroism and selfless act to save another. This is one of the amazing heroic stories to come out of yesterdayโs tragic events. My thoughts and prayers are with my brothers, sisters, and friends of the JCPD.๐ฎ๐ปโโ๏ธ

Deputies from the Harris County Precinct 5 Constable's Office were quick to rescue a man trapped in his vehicle during a fire, and it was all caught on camera, ABC 13 reports. It all happened around 6 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, in the 15200 block of Clay Road, when 20-year-old Jonathan Morales-Fuentes fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed into a tree. According to authorities, a sergeant was on his way home when he found the vehicle on fire and saw a wrecker driver was attempting to get in the car. "I never took that road to go home before. I was going back to leave a report at the office," said Sgt. Lance Anderson, who drove up on the burning car. "There were so many coincidences that morning." Anderson added he believes he was meant to be there and meant to save a life. Anderson called other deputies to the scene and used multiple fire extinguishers to temporarily slow down the flames.๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ปโโ๏ธ

The legislation was passed by 358 votes to 234, sealing a thumping 124-vote majority. Jeremy Corbyn had earlier ordered his Labour MPs to vote against the Bill - although six of them defied him to back it.

Manyurov, who was shot dead during the attack, opened fire on the FSBโs main building in Moscow on Thursday evening, killing one FSB employee outright and wounding five others, including one civilian. Russian investigators said in their statement on Friday that a second FSB employee had been seriously wounded in the same attack and had later died from his wounds in hospital.
An Iowa man who set fire to a church LGBTQ flag in June was sentenced Wednesday to over 15 years in prison. Adolfo Martinez, 30, was found guilty last month of a hate crime, third-degree harassment and reckless use of fire, the Des Moines Register reported. Martinez stole an LGBTQ flag hanging from the United Church of Christ in Ames โ about 35 miles north of Des Moines โ and set it on fire outside a strip club on June 11, police said. Martinez admitted to police that he stole the flag from church and burned it because he opposed homosexuality. Martinez was arrested in June and convicted last month. He received 15 years for the hate crime of arson, one year for the reckless use of explosives or fire and 30 days for harassment.
