Spanish police on Tuesday refloated a submarine that was intercepted with a cargo suspected to be about 7500 lb of cocaine, a security source told @police_frequency in the Telegram. Two Ecuador nationals were detained and another person escaped from the vessel in waters off the northwestern region of Galicia at the weekend, the source said. Investigators believe that the crew had attempted to sink the submarine and the drugs it had on board. Police refloated the vessel with the use of divers and balloons. It was later transported to a port in Cangas, in Pontevedra province.๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

The Chicago Police Department announced this week that it has seized more than 10,000 guns so far this year โ€“ an average of one gun every 48 minutes โ€“ an uptick from one gun-per-hour the previous year, according to CPD. โ€œIโ€™m immensely proud of CPD for taking 10,000 guns off the streets this year,โ€ Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said. โ€œWe really need systematic change to prevent these guns from ever finding their way into the city.โ€ CPD typically recovers around 7,000 guns a year, but 2019 and 2018 saw substantial spikes, with officers seizing about 9,800 guns last year. Johnson said CPD routinely recovers more guns than New York and Los Angeles because the states surrounding those cities have stricter gun laws in comparison to Illinoisโ€™ bordering states. ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

A snowstorm in the Sierra Nevada has shut down a highway in the mountains west of the Nevada-California line, US NEWS reports. The California Highway Patrol said traffic on U.S. Interstate 80 was being held Tuesday on both sides of Donner Pass north of Lake Tahoe so crews could clear the highway of multiple spinouts and collisions. There was no immediate report of any serious injuries. Authorities didnโ€™t have an estimated time for reopening the interstate โ„๏ธ

Two major winter storms are set to disrupt the travel plans of millions of Americans headed to Thanksgiving Day destinations on jam-packed highways and airplanes Wednesday. Those living in the western two-thirds of the country have been hit with up to 30 inches of snow fall in Colorado and a 'bomb cyclone' pummeling the Northwest. The deteriorating conditions have forced the closure of interstates and canceled flights - just as 55 million set off for the holidays. The first storm front was moving across the upper Midwest, where it was forecast to clobber parts of Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota with almost a foot of snow and wind gusts of up to 50 mph, making travel difficult if not impossible, the National Weather Service said. It also warned of possible winds of up to 60 mph and rainstorms across a wide swath of the central US from western Texas up through Missouri and into Ohio on Wednesday, as millions will hit the roads and board airplanes for the holiday. โ„๏ธโ˜ƒ๏ธ
