LAPD News: OIS in Rampart Division.

This is preliminary info: At around 8:57pm Rampart Division patrol officers were in the area of Rampart Blvd and 3rd Street when they were involved in a pursuit for a “Man with a Gun in a vehicle”, described as a gray Ram Truck.

Officers pursued the suspect to the intersection of Berendo St and 1st Street when the suspect immediately exited his truck and shot at the pursuing officers.  Officers returned fire. The suspect was struck by gunfire and taken into custody.

Fire department paramedics transported the suspect, described as a male adult, to a nearby hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and is listed in stable condition.

One officer was injured in the process of taking the suspect  into custody, transported to a nearby hospital, treated and released. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for his recovery🙏🏻

NEW: An off-duty LASD deputy’s purse was stolen from her unlocked vehicle at a Montessori school in La Puente. Her duty firearm, badge and phone were reportedly inside.

Investigators are tracking the phone and that an area was being evacuated for a search.

Surveillance footage captured a terrifying moment inside a CTA bus as a man wildly waves a gun just feet from the driver. With only the protective partition between them, the driver scrambles from the seat and climbs through the side window to escape reportedly breaking her leg in the process.

South Dakota Highway Patrol

The Franklin Police Department is celebrating the retirement of Lieutenant Charlie Richards, who is concluding a distinguished law enforcement career spanning more than 25 years with the department.
Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Richards has served in numerous roles throughout his career, most recently overseeing the department’s Evidence Division. He was promoted to sergeant in 2014 and lieutenant in 2017. His extensive experience also includes eight years as a K-9 handler and eight years as a member of the department’s SWAT team.
Among his many career highlights, Richards served on the Williamson County Strike Team that assisted communities in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He also played an instrumental role in establishing the department’s Peer Support and Chaplain programs, which provide important resources and assistance to officers and department personnel.

Palm Springs Police Officers Lesley Zerebny, 27, and Jose "Gil" Vega, 63, were brutally gunned down in 2016 by John Hernandez Felix. Lesley had just returned to duty following maternity leave, having given birth to a daughter four months earlier. Vega was just months away from his retirement after nearly 30 years of service. A jury of his peers and a Riverside County judge convicted Felix and sentenced him to death. That’s how our justice system was supposed to work. Now, without even notifying victims’ families, Governor Newsom has commuted the death sentence for Felix and other evil violent criminals who juries and judges rightfully sentenced to death. That’s not justice for the victims. That’s not justice for Lesley and Gil.

🚨RED FLAG WARNING | SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for Saturday, November 7, from 2 AM to 6 PM, affecting the Santa Clarita Valley, Santa Monica Mountains, Santa Susana Mountains, and Western San Gabriel Mountains.

Strong Santa Ana winds, with gusts up to 55 mph, combined with low humidity and hot temperatures, will create dangerous fire conditions. Any fire that starts could spread rapidly. Downed trees and power outages are also possible.

Residents are urged to avoid activities that could spark a fire, review evacuation plans, and stay alert to changing conditions. Elevated fire danger is also expected outside the warning areas.
