BREAKING: The FBI and our partners have arrested Luis Benítez Alcántara, a Mexican judge who allegedly accepted bribes and used his position to aid former FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitive Ryan Wedding and his associates.

Benítez Alcántara was a district judge in Mexico City who allegedly accepted $2 million in exchange for granting bond to and ordering the release of Wedding’s second in command, while Wedding was orchestrating a billion-dollar transnational criminal organization and the largest supplier of cocaine to Canada with connections in Colombia, Mexico, and the U.S.

Benítez Alcántara is charged with nine counts of accessory after the fact for assisting the individual in order to hinder or prevent his apprehension, trial or punishment.

Thanks to FBI Los Angeles, our Bogatá Law Enforcement Attaché, our local partners, and our TheJusticeDept who made the success of this operation possible.

Today, I accepted the resignation of Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon, who led the Civil Rights Division with conviction the past 18 months. She has defended the civil liberties of every American and enforced the law without fear or favor. The Department is grateful for her dedicated public service, and we wish her every success in her future endeavors.

“It’s kinda scary for our community…” Del
Rio (border) residents I talked to this morning say they are concerned with the change in leadership in Texas when it comes to border security.

One person told me off camera that this is just how politics go and “everything will be fine.”

Governor-elect Gina Hinojosa has not said whether she will keep Abbott’s Operation Lone Star—She is slated to speak this afternoon about next steps.

Footage captured an attempted stabbing inside UIC’s Student Center East, showing a student on the floor appearing to fend off an attacker armed with a large knife. The student’s roommate said the victim had slipped on liquid from a thrown bottle and kicked the attacker in the jaw before escaping.

UIC officials said the suspect, also a student, allegedly tried to use an incendiary device before the attack and was arrested following the November 4 incident at 750 S. Halsted St. The victim was unharmed, and officials reported no ongoing threat to campus.

We are saddened to announce the passing of William “Bowie” Taylor.

Bowie served our agency as a Police Sergeant, and later a Safety Officer.

Bowie was the rare man whose presence and wit could endure over decades, and enmesh into the very fabric of a community, as is the case for Nicholasville and Jessamine County.

Rest Easy Brother. Prayers for his family of blue and blood.🙏🏻

The Mustang gets all the attention, but I’d have a hard time walking past this Torino Cobra.

Especially in orange with that black hood. Not exactly a subtle choice.

Pierce County WA Amendment 53, the amendment to make the sheriff appointed and also to remove me from office, is being rejected 67% to 33%.

I want to thank the citizens of Pierce County for voting to keep their right to vote.

I understand that many of the people who voted to reject 53, don’t want me to be the sheriff, but they want to maintain their right to vote for the office of sheriff.

I support everyone’s right to vote for the candidate of their choice.

I won the election in 2024, and I won it again now in 2026.

Have I won enough times to be able to finish out my term?

Asking for a friend.
