Professor Larry Jacobs at the University of Minnesota tells FoxNews to keep an eye on three suburban MN counties tonight to get a sense of chances for a Michele Tafoya upset win in the Senate race: Carver, Anoka, and Scott. These are all counties Trump won in 2024:

Scott: R+8
Carver: R+ 5
Anoka: R+4

Professor Jacobs says because Trump ended up losing the MN by about 4 points in '24, Tafoya will need to outperform Trump's 2024 numbers in these three counties while running on a more moderate platform and these high income suburban counties could be an early bellwether of how she will perform elsewhere around the state out of the MSP metro area.

As for Peggy Flanagan, she is expected to run up the score in the Twin Cities metro of Hennepin and Ramsey Counties, which both went Harris +43 in 2024. Professor Jacobs says if Flanagan isn't putting up at least +40 margins in both Hennepin & Ramsey counties, she may be in trouble.

WATCH: Rep. Mike Lawler addressed voting machine problems in Westchester County, NY, where ballots were rejected because of their paper thickness. He said ballots already cast will be secured in emergency orange bags.

After 9 p.m., police will escort the bags to the Board of Elections for counting. The ballots will not be opened at polling sites.

NEW: A Luray, Virginia police officer died by suicide on November 3, 2026, during a Virginia State Police investigation into serious misconduct allegations. State authorities were executing search warrants at a residence in Luray when the death occurred. Police Chief Lonnie Foster Jr. confirmed the incident, stating the department is cooperating fully with the independent investigation, while the officer's identity and specific charges remain undisclosed.

"Our thoughts are with the family and everyone affected by this tragedy," the chief said. "We ask for everyone's patience and respect for those involved while the investigation continues."
