UFC referee Mike Beltran recently retired from the Los Angeles Sheriffβs Department after nearly 32 years.
After serving in the US Marine Corps, he joined law enforcement. His roles included deputy, training officer, gang suppression team member, deep undercover operative, and detective, capped by his final six years as a Task Force Officer with the DEA.
From jails and streets to complex narcotics investigations, the East LA/Downey native brought the same discipline, street smarts, and never quit mentality he honed in uniform into the octagon, where heβs known for his calm authority and fighter first approach.
Now fully focused on MMA, Beltranβs dual career stands as a rare bridge between protecting communities and protecting fighters inside the cage.

As we draw closer and closer to Election Day, I'm noticing people become increasingly more possessed, like demons. Normally respectable people are losing their composure and their dignity because they can't handle the stress.
Jesus has the wheel, folks. Get comfortable with uncertainty. Trust me, you can handle whatever comes next. Just vote your principles, destroy commies til your last dying breath, and we'll see what happens. You're not in control, nobody has a magic bullet, and you can't tweet your way into Paradise.
You will adapt and overcome whatever happens. I promise.
