The Adams County Sheriffβs Office said a deputy was shot near Faith Road in Liberty Township, near West Union, around 9:45 p.m.
At this time, investigators havenβt shared the condition of the deputy or said how bad his injuries are.
The deputy who was shot was flown to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
At this time, it's not clear what led to the deputy being shot or if a suspect has been injured or identified.

On October 29, 2026, at approximately 2:10 p.m., witnesses reported to Yamhill Communications Agency (YCOM) that two helicopters had crashed near the intersection of SE Amity-Dayton Highway (Highway 233) and SE Cruickshank Road, southeast of McMinnville.
Responding personnel located a 1995 Robinson R22 helicopter and a 2018 Airbus AS350B3 helicopter crashed in a field adjacent to Highway 233. Medical and law enforcement personnel confirmed there were two occupants in the Robinson helicopter and one occupant in the Airbus. All three were deceased.
The occupants of the Robinson R22 were identified as flight instructor Maddie Aasbo, 22, of Texas, and a student pilot from the United Kingdom, whose identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification. The sole occupant of the Airbus AS350B3 was identified as Tyler Delane Sturdevant, 38, of Newberg.

UPDATE: A deputy and suspect were flown to the hospital after a shooting on Thursday.
In a statement, authorities said deputies with the Adams County Sheriffβs Office responded to a report of a mental health-related incident.
Both the Adams County deputy and the suspect were struck by gunfire and were flown to a Cincinnati-area hospital for treatment.
The incident is being investigated by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and authorities said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
An officer at the scene said the deputy is doing "well." The condition of the suspect remains unclear.
