Whitman County WA Sheriff Brett Myers has passed away at the age of 56 following a short battle with a rare, aggressive neurological disease.
"It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Brett Myers, who passed away on October 27, 2026, at 11:05 p.m., at the age of 56.
Brett passed away at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle following a short battle with a rare, aggressive neurological disease. We were blessed to be by his side during this time.
We want to express our deepest gratitude for the extraordinary outpouring of love, prayers, kindness, and support we have received throughout Brett's illness and now in his passing. Every prayer, message, and act of support has meant more to us than words can express."

NEW: A St Louis woman has caught a recording breaking fish in British Columbia.
It's an 11 ft. 4 in. white sturgeon.
It's officially the largest freshwater fish ever caught by a female angler at 1,200 pounds.
The fish was tagged and released.
