Catawba County Sheriffβs Office sadly announced the death of Sergeant Danny Chafin. Today we grieve the loss of not only a fellow officer, but a valued member of our law enforcement family.
Sergeant Danny Chafin began his career with the Catawba County Sheriffβs Office on October 2, 1989, serving as a telecommunicator. On February 4, 1993, he completed Basic Law Enforcement Training and continued his career as a sworn law enforcement officer, dedicating more than three decades of service to the citizens of Catawba County.
Behind every badge is a person who has chosen to serve others, make a difference and be part of something greater than themselves. The loss of Sergeant Chafin is deeply felt and our hearts are with the family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time."
Rest Easy Brother. Prayers for his family of blue and blood.ππ»

The Terminator hit theaters 42 years ago today on October 26, 1984.
Written and directed by James Cameron and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Michael Biehn, Paul Winfield, and Lance Henriksen, The Terminator followed a cyborg assassin sent back from 2029 to 1984 Los Angeles to kill Sarah Connor before she could give birth to the future leader of humanityβs resistance against the machines.
The movie opened at No. 1 with just over $4 million and went on to earn more than $38 million domestically on a budget of approximately $6.4 million.
Fun fact: James Cameron sold the rights to The Terminator to producer Gale Anne Hurd for just $1 in exchange for her promise to keep him attached as director. Cameron said studios wanted to buy his screenplay but werenβt willing to let him direct it.
And of course, the movie gave us one of Arnold Schwarzeneggerβs most famous lines:
βIβll be back.β
