NEW: A Temple TX police officer is recovering after a suspect in a car chase allegedly intentionally struck his patrol vehicle, the police department reports.

The wreck happened shortly before 11 a.m. on Oct. 13 in the area of South General Bruce Drive and Huron Drive.
Police officers were notified over the radio by the Bell County Constable’s Office of a vehicle pursuit that originated in Killeen entering the Temple city limits
A Temple Police Department patrol officer pulled over to the side of the road “to avoid interfering with the pursuit,” a police spokeswoman said
The suspect attempting to elude authorities “intentionally struck the Temple patrol unit while it was positioned on the side of the road,” the spokeswoman further stated

Please, praying for the Thornton Colorado Police officer who was shot in the line of duty last night.🙏🏻

A Thornton Police officer was shot and injured while responding to a call Sunday night. Investigators say the suspect, 37-year-old Luis Arebalo, opened fire on officers near East 128th Avenue and Ulster Street before fleeing the scene.

The officer was taken to the hospital with serious injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police identified the suspect as 37-year-old Luis Arebalo, who is considered armed and dangerous.

UPDATE: Pueblo officer wounded in Oct. 10 shootout released from hospital.

Two police officers wounded during a shootout at a Pueblo apartment complex on Oct. 10 are continuing to recover from their injuries.

Officer Justin Ortiz sustained a graze wound to the ankle during the incident, according to a Pueblo Police Department news release, and Officer Jonathon Woehler suffered gunshot wounds to both legs and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Ortiz did not require hospitalization, and Woehler was released from the hospital on Oct. 12.

We are deeply saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Guilford County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeffrey Routh.

At 62 years old, Deputy Routh decided to attend Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) and serve his community. He joined Team Guilford in 2019 and served as a part-time Deputy assigned to District 1.

Deputy Routh was always willing to lend a helping hand. He frequently volunteered to work extra shifts, including holidays, so his fellow deputies could spend time with their families.

He was so dependable that he even had a take-home patrol vehicle, something part-time Deputies don't normally receive. He always seemed to end up with one of the oldest vehicles, but that never bothered him. He'd take it home, wash it, wax it, and care for it like it was brand new.

It was just one of the many ways he showed how much pride he took in serving our community.

Beyond the badge, he was a loving husband, father, and friend.

BREAKING: Two Suspects ARRESTED after Off Duty Cop was stabbed in the Bronx.

25-year-old D’Angelo Caraballo accused of stabbing an off-duty New York City police detective seven times during a brazen daytime robbery and his alleged accomplice, 24-year-old, Sneider Mejia being escorted out of a Bronx precinct by detectives to a waiting jail transport vehicle just days after he and an accomplice were arrested in Massachusetts following a multi-day manhunt.

Caraballo and Mejia could face charges of attempted murder in the Oct. 2 attack on Detective Jose Mercedes, 33, a 10-year veteran assigned to the 44th Precinct.
