NEW: Multiple law enforcement officers from across the region to welcome home Saddle Brook NJ Police Officer Nicholas Genuario as he was released from the hospital.

Officer Genuario was seriously injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver during a traffic stop.

We wish Officer Genuario a speedy and full recovery as he continues his road to healing. Our thoughts and prayers remain with him, his family, and the entire Saddle Brook Police Department.🙏🏻

Monday: Risk of heavy rain and flooding continues for the Southwest today. More record heat this week.

NEW: Somebody walked up to a postal truck in broad daylight in Sacramento and drove off with trays of mail — and officials say ballots may have been in the mix.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the College Glen neighborhood. Video shows a man in a gray SUV opening the back of the truck and taking the trays. A neighbor watched it happen. U.S. Postal Inspector Jonathan Lanning told KCRA that mail was stolen and “there may have been ballots affected.”

Sacramento County had just mailed out ballots with Election Day coming up. Local resident Mary Brown said she checked her informed-mail notice and was supposed to get ballots for her great-grandchildren that day. They never showed.

The Postal Inspection Service is offering up to $100,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction. Tip line is 1-877-876-2455.
