NEW: DHS released the following statement after ICE arrested a three-time previously deported illegal alien who allegedly used his vehicle to assault an ICE law enforcement officer in California.

The arrest stems from an August 31, 2026 incident in Martinez, California, in which Jesus Israel Garcia-Cobarruvias, an illegal alien from Mexico, allegedly accelerated his vehicle toward ICE officers, injured an officer, damaged a government vehicle, and then fled the area.

Ashley Flynn, 37, a Tipp City, Ohio, teacher and middle-school volleyball coach, was found in bed at 932 Cunningham Court about 2:30 a.m. Feb. 16.

Caleb, 40, former American Idol contestant and worship pastor, called 911: “My wife, she’s got two sh*ts to her head. There’s blood everywhere.”

The detective testified that when he arrived her hair covered the scalp and the injuries were not obvious at first look.

NEW: Two people were injured, including a Franklin County Sheriff’s deputy, after a fire at a home in Alligator Point early Sunday morning.

“Some neighbors called a little after 1 a.m. that the house across the street was on fire and that they heard someone yelling for help.”

The Alligator Point-St. Teresa Volunteer Fire Department responded, along with Carabelle Police and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Law enforcement helped get the man out of the home. Smith said one deputy was injured and is now on leave for a few days.

He drove off in a 2012 Buick and tried to stash it in an alley. His license had been revoked since January 2002.

NEW: Two people, including police officer, injured in KCK confrontation.

Melissa Underwood, a spokesperson for the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, said in an email that KBI officials were called to investigate an “officer-involved critical incident” near the intersection of North 29th Street and State Avenue Tuesday evening. She said a man and a Kansas City, Kansas, officer were both injured in a confrontation and brought to hospitals for treatment.

Underwood said once KBI agents had time to investigate further, the department would release additional information. She indicated the department was not investigating a shooting and that neither person involved was injured by gunfire.
