NEW: Eleven teenagers were shot early Sunday at Carolyn Crayton Park in Macon, Georgia, with two victims remaining in critical condition. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has not made any arrests or released a motive.

The shooting happened just after midnight Sunday inside Carolyn Crayton Park in Macon, Georgia, about an hour and a half southeast of Atlanta. No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and investigators have not detailed a potential motive. 

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that four 18-year-old men, five 17-year-old boys, and two 18-year-old women were among the victims. Hospital workers indicated that two of the victims were in critical condition, while the other nine had been stabilized.

Wouter, a police K-9 from The Redondo Beach Police Department in Southern California, is recovering from his injuries after a man allegedly bit part of his ear off during a standoff.

Police say the suspect, a wanted felon, barricaded himself inside a home and refused to surrender.

Police sent Wouter inside the home to help officers arrest the man. The suspect then bit the dog and tore off a portion of his ear, police said.

"Wouter" means "powerful warrior" in Dutch.
"Wishing our bestest boy a speedy recovery, and want him to get all the scratchies and treats," the department posted on Facebook.🙏🏻

A deputy with the Stewart County Tennessee Sheriff's Office passed away after a deadly car accident.

The Sheriff's Office announced in a social media post that Deputy Ricky Smith was in a fatal car accident, and asks for prayers for his family.

A Colorado Springs police officer was hurt while trying to make an arrest, according to CSPD.

They said officers were investigating a disturbance around 8 p.m. on Saturday and found someone who was blocking traffic.

Police said the suspect resisted arrest and had to be carried into a cruiser by officers.

Once they were at the El Paso County Jail, police said the suspect refused to leave the cruiser and, when an officer tired to get into the cruiser and remove them, police said the suspect kicked that officer.

They said the suspect was not injured, but the officer was minorly injured, but remained on duty. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for his recovery🙏🏻

NEW: Unions for California police and firefighters came close to sweetening retirement benefits for their members, but the memory of California’s pension crisis ultimately was too much for Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Newsom vetoed a bill that would have enhanced retirement perks for police and firefighters despite near-unanimous support from state lawmakers and heavy pressure from public safety unions. 

Newsom in his veto message wrote the bill would partly reverse a 2012 law that former Gov. Jerry Brown championed when California’s major funds were spiraling from Great Recession losses.
