WATCH: A pop-up storm brought lightning, hail and mudflows to the San Bernardino County mountains, leaving a mess in Forest Falls on Thursday.

The thunderstorm pushed a Jeep off the road and sent mud and water into the streets, but crews quickly cleared the debris. Earlier thunderstorms produced heavy rain across the area, with between .75 and 1.25 inches of rain having fallen, NWS said.

NEW: Motorcycle officer with the California Highway Patrol was injured Thursday afternoon in a traffic collision in Baldwin Park.

At approximately 4:40 p.m., the California Highway Patrol received a report of a traffic collision involving one of its motorcycle units near the intersection of Puente Avenue and Merced Avenue in Baldwin Park. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision involved an SUV and a California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer. 

Its collision occurred when the SUV made a left turn from the number two lane in front of the motorcycle, which was traveling in the number one lane, the California Highway Patrol told Baldwin Park News.

NEW: A man has been charged after police say he ran over an Eastpointe officer with a trailer and led officers on a chase into Detroit, MDN reports.

Police responded to English Gardens at 22501 Kelly Road around 1:40 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, after a report of a man prowling inside the closed business. Officers stopped a landscaping truck driven by Jeremy Johnson, 38, and said its trailer had no plate and carried items from the store.

When told to get out because he was under arrest, Johnson started the truck and accelerated, police said. The truck struck an officer at the driver’s door, and the trailer rolled over his legs. The officer was treated and released.

Police said Johnson tried to hit several police vehicles during the chase. His damaged trailer scattered landscaping tools across the road, damaging at least one police car. He eventually bailed out, fled on foot and tried to sit on a porch and disguise himself before being arrested.

NEW: On September 25, 2026, a Binghamton police officer sustained minor injuries in a crash involving a patrol SUV and a 2006 Jaguar at the intersection of Baldwin and Belden streets.

The officer was hospitalized for evaluation, while the 68-year-old Jaguar driver, who reported being shaken and sore, was taken to a hospital by a neighbor.

According to the car driver, the police vehicle ran a stop sign; authorities launched both a routine crash reconstruction investigation and an internal police inquiry.
