BREAKING: Arlingtonβs Commonwealthβs Attorney testified that her office has a DUI policy specifically for DACA recipients. In a small number of cases, prosecutors have considered changing a DUI to a different first-degree misdemeanor so the defendant can renew DACA status. (We donβt have first-degree misdemeanors - they are called Class 1 misdemeanors - surprised an elected prosecutor doesnβt know that).
She says the defendant is still held accountable and the original DUI charge remains visible. But DACA status is a factor in the plea resolution, one that an American citizen charged with the same offense cannot invoke.
Should immigration status affect which crime appears on a defendantβs record?
Source: Dehghani-Tafti deposition, p. 89, lines 6β22.

Taxpayers funded his private toilet π½
A Massachusetts housing chief used public credit cards to remodel his own bathroom, then walked on a sweet deferred deal.
Welcome to Democrat-run Massachusetts.
Michael Lara ran the Watertown Housing Authority from 2019 to 2025. β
That agency houses low-income, disabled, and elderly tenants. β
Federal prosecutors say he put about $6,200 in personal renovation supplies on WHA cards in 2023. β
The haul included a $1,600 double vanity at Home Depot and about $3,100 at a bathroom showroom for his Norwood house. β
He later became executive director of the Newton Housing Authority.
The U.S. Attorneyβs Office in Massachusetts charged him with one count of wire fraud.
Lara took a deferred prosecution agreement instead of a trial. β
He must repay the $6,200, stay clean of federal crimes for six months, and resign from Newton.
Public housing money is supposed to fix units for people who cannot afford a contractor.

THREAT IDENTIFIED. ACTION TAKEN.
FBI Jacksonville received a Threat-to-Life tip involving an alleged mass-shooting threat against a Clay County school.
Our people moved FAST.
Working with our state and local law enforcement partners, the information was immediately acted on, the individual was identified, and an arrest was made before any reported violence occurred.
This is exactly what happens when law enforcement works together β intelligence moves, cops act, and our kids are protected.
We will continue using every lawful tool and every partnership we have to find these threats and STOP them before they become tragedies.
Great work by FBI Jacksonville and our partners in Green Cove Springs.
