Lindsay Clancy's defense is now targeting the lone holdout juror after her high-profile murder trial, asking the court to investigate whether he lied during jury selection and improperly handled deliberations.

Defense attorney Kevin Reddington is seeking the juror's questionnaire, cell phone records and on-the-record questioning. He's also asking the judge to dismiss the murder charges and enter a not guilty verdict, arguing there was insufficient evidence.

The holdout juror denies any wrongdoing, while an attorney representing another juror is firing back, calling the defense motions an attack on the jury system and the Constitution.

"Pete spent over 25 years putting on the badge every day, dedicating his life to the safety and well-being of others. An unexpected loss like this leaves a profound void in our lives and our community. We are endlessly grateful for his sacrifices and the lives he touched, both on and off duty.

Pete was a familiar face for the PBA staff for years, always involved and always fighting for the members even after retirement. His commitment carried on year after year. He was always a committed member of our great organization and a valuable part of our team."

NEW: Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-IL), who has said she is a “proud anchor baby”, will hold a press conference in Chicago tomorrow morning to introduce legislation that would “dismantle DHS” & “abolish ICE”.

Ramirez says her “Reimagining Safety Act” would “repeal the authorities that give DHS its power, and redirect all funds from DHS to programs that working families rely on,” as well as “create a new human- and community-centered federal department that promotes collective safety.”

NEW: A 22-year-old volunteer firefighter and licensed EMT is challenging the City of Fremont after his application was rejected because he was homeschooled.

Andrew Coates has served as a volunteer with Cedar Bluffs Fire and holds a state EMT license.

The Fremont Fire Department rejected his application, citing that his homeschool education is considered unaccredited in Nebraska.

While the original job listing asked for "graduation from high school," the city later updated requirements to specify an "accredited" diploma.

Backed by supporters, Coates took his appeal to the Fremont Civil Service Commission, which voiced concern over ambiguity but took no action on city policy.

His family now has 30 days to decide whether to take the case to court.

Los Angeles: On August 18, 2026, at approximately 7:30., pm, uniformed officers assigned to Southeast Patrol Division responded to a radio call regarding a kidnapping in progress in the area of Central Avenue and Century Blvd. The comments of the call indicated the suspect, later identified as Bryant Session, was armed with a firearm described as a possible AR-type gun.

Upon arrival, officers observed Session standing in front of a restaurant holding what appeared to be an assault rifle. Officers issued repeated commands for Session to drop the weapon; however, he failed to comply and moved behind a parked vehicle. Session then pointed the rifle in the direction of the officers.

Session was not struck by gunfire and fled southbound from the officers toward a rear alley, where he concealed the rifle in a parking lot of a nearby apartment complex. Responding officers subsequently located and detained Session without further use of force.

WATCH IN FULL: VP JD Vance announces a major fraud crackdown, stopping enrollment for roughly 750,000 people the administration believes are fraudulently enrolled in Obamacare.

Vance says the move will save taxpayers $2.2 billion.

"We expect that most of these people are fraudulently enrolled," Vance says as he announces additional verification for another 419,000 people.

Those checks will focus on whether enrollees meet legal residency and income requirements. Vance says money recovered through the crackdown will instead go toward the health services it was originally intended to fund.
