Help keep students safe by remembering these simple rules:

*Stand back: Wait at least 6 feet (three giant steps) back from the curb while waiting for the bus.
*Wait for the signal: Wait until the bus stops completely and the driver signals it is safe to approach or cross.
*Cross in front: Always cross at least 10 feet in front of the bus so the driver can see you.
*Stay seated: Remain seated and keep hands and head inside the bus while it moves.

A large number of law enforcement officers joined friends and family at Saturday's funeral for Claiborne County Deputy Terrian Bailey.

Bailey, 45, was responding early on Labor Day, Sept. 7, to a large crowd outside Michael Dean’s Convenience Store in Hermanville following the Hermanville Day Festival when gunfire erupted. Deputies were working to disperse the crowd when Bailey was struck by a bullet. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

A procession of law enforcement officers escorted the hearse Saturday morning from Port Gibson to Lorman, was held at Alcorn State University. Following the service, Bailey will be laid to rest at McCaa Cemetery on China Grove Church Road in Lorman.

Operation Lone Star is in full effect. In Dimmit County, TxDPS Tracking K-9 Bona & her handler tracked a group of illegal immigrants over 3 miles on a private ranch. Due to extreme heat, DPS Border Mounted Patrol took over and completed the track, leading to their apprehension. Great teamwork!

PURE EVIL: POLICE SAY HE HID A DE*D BABY INSIDE A COUCH...then allegedly created a fake person and TEXTED HIMSELF to help support the story he gave investigators.

Police say 19-year-old Elijah Mayes was babysitting 11-month-old Grayson Walton when the baby d*ed inside a Kentucky home. Grayson was later found hidden inside a couch, covered in bruises with apparent TEETH MARKS on his stomach.

Mayes initially claimed someone else had picked Grayson up, but investigators now allege he created a fake phone number, pretended to be that person and sent messages to HIMSELF in an attempt to make the story look real.

He has pleaded not guilty to charges including m*rder, criminal abuse, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse. Grayson’s step-grandfather, Jeff Barnett, has also been charged with tampering with physical evidence.

This innocent baby deserved so much better than this.

Central City PD announces death of Officer Jason Phillips.

As a dedicated police officer with the Central City Police Department, Jason served others with commitment, pride, and compassion. His badge represented more than a profession; it reflected his willingness to help, protect, and serve. He took pride in making a difference in the lives of others and was respected and loved not only for the work he did but for the person he was. His brothers and sisters in blue were more than coworkers; they were family. The bonds he formed throughout his career, the lives he touched, and the memories he created will never be forgotten.

CATCH AND RELEASE STRIKES AGAIN: More than a dozen arrests, YEARS of drug problems, probation violations, and asuspended-license history.

And now two people are de*d.

Prosecutors say 36-year-old Bailee Lynn Rios was high when she drove her SUV the WRONG WAY at high speed, blew through a red light and slammed into a Metro bus in Los Angeles.

Daniel Castillo, 46, and Gage Weida, 31, were killed.

Investigators also found narcotics inside Rios’ SUV, according to prosecutors.

And this wasn’t her first encounter with the system. Records show years of drug-related arrests, a m*th possession conviction, probation violations and previous trouble for driving with a suspended license.

At some point, “she struggled with addiction” stops being the end of the conversation.

Two men got on a city bus and never made it home.

Rios is now charged with two counts of second-degree m*rder and faces up to LIFE in prison if convicted.

THE LINDSAY CLANCY PROSECUTORS HAVE BEEN DOXXED.

Jennifer Sprague and Shanan Buckingham spent nearly six weeks prosecuting the case against a woman accused of m*rdering her three children.

Both prosecutors are mothers themselves. Every night they left that courtroom and went home to THEIR OWN families.

And according to Plymouth County DA Tim Cruz, people didn’t just attack them online. Their home addresses were posted, threats were made against them and their families were dragged into it.

All because they did their jobs.

You can believe the prosecution was wrong. You can argue every piece of evidence, criticize their strategy and disagree with every word they said in that courtroom.

But once you start publishing where prosecutors LIVE and threatening their families because you don’t like the case they brought, you’ve completely lost the plot.

These women were prosecuting the deaths of Cora, Dawson and Callan.

Their families should never have become targets for it.
