On September 5, the Virginia State Police family, alongside family, friends, and our law enforcement partners, gathered to give final honors to Retired Superintendent William F. “Bill” Corvello, recognizing his 37 years of dedicated service to the Virginia State Police and the Commonwealth.
Thank you to all who came out to honor his memory and legacy. We are grateful to the Newport News and Portsmouth Police Departments for standing with us in this final tribute.
Our continued condolences are with his wife Cheryl, his children, his loved ones, and all who knew and served alongside him.
May his service, leadership, and legacy never be forgotten. 🕊️

HE WAS REMOVED FROM AMERICA SIX TIMES, came back AGAIN and later s*xually assaulted a severely disabled woman in Michigan. Then a federal judge gave him roughly five months of time served in his illegal reentry case.
Edys Renan Membreño Díaz had already been sentenced to six to 15 years in state prison for s*xually assaulting a woman with cerebral palsy and cognitive disabilities.
His separate federal case was for illegally returning to the United States after six prior removals.
Prosecutors wanted additional prison time.
Judge Judith Levy instead sentenced him to roughly five months of time served and praised him for supporting his family and working “jobs that Americans apparently do not want to work in.”
Then she told him, “I commend you.” WTH is going on with these judges?
Six removals had already failed. He came back again. A profoundly vulnerable woman became his victim.
