Law enforcement can remove the drug dealers and gang members who were terrorizing the park and community. We’ve done that and will continue to do so.

What you’re seeing now is the failed “harm reduction” policy of handing out needles and financial subsidies. It enables addiction and leads to overdose deaths.

The city and county must reverse their misguided “housing first” agenda and focus on treatment first. These people need rehab, not a condo. Other cities like Santa Ana have done it successfully, and Los Angeles can too if it decides to.

More than 150 officers were deployed to a street takeover around 3:21 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of South Figueroa Street and West Alondra Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.⁠

HOW is this not getting more attention?! The SAME JUDGE who just declared a mistrial in Lindsay Clancy's case had another mother's child-murder convictions thrown out LAST MONTH over his handling of psychiatric evidence.

Judge William Sullivan presided over Latarsha Sanders's trial, where she was convicted in 2022 of k*lling her sons, 8-year-old Edson "Marlon" Brito and 5-year-old La'Son Brito.

On Aug. 6, Massachusetts' highest court vacated those convictions after ruling Sullivan wrongly kept important mental-health records away from the jury.

Then on Sept. 4, Sullivan declared a mistrial in Clancy's case after jurors deadlocked over whether she was criminally responsible for killing her three children.

Between these two cases, FIVE CHILDREN are dead.

One set of convictions was vacated. The other trial produced no verdict.

And the same judge sits at the center of both.

A serial pooper is on the loose in Santa Monica. My video shows a homeless man sitting down & pooping into a bark dust type thing in broad daylight when there are people walking, strolling by him. He's also seen wiping & he leave the paper right there. This happened yesterday, Saturday, On Marine St & 2nd St around 4pm. Traumatized residents around the neighborhood told me he has been using the neighborhood as his personal toilet for years. They say his behavior is getting worse. For me, It’s disgusting to see this happening in a nice neighborhood in Santa Monica. The area has a lot of "mentally ill homeless people that we have compassion for, But they need treatment." I feel it’s unfair that they are held to a higher standard. So basically, If someone poops right here, It’s fine. But if I throw something on the sidewalk, I get a ticket. Something really needs to be about all the homeless people committing crimes & they need to be accounted for their actions like everyone else does. Sergeant David Cajuso of the Miami Beach Police Department, who died in a line-of-duty motorcycle crash in October 2025, will have a stretch of Southwest 84th Street named in his honor.
Deputy Devin Jaramillo of the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, who was killed in the line of duty in November 2025, will have a stretch of Southwest 132nd Avenue and the football field at Devin Air Park, where he played as a child, named in his honor.
They answered the call as officers, but they were also sons, fathers, husbands, and loved ones.

You have got to be kidding me. An MS-13 member known as "The Witch" has a 20-year homicide sentence waiting for him in El Salvador, but a federal judge just ORDERED ICE TO RELEASE HIM in California.

David Antonio Aviles Perez was convicted in absentia for his role in a 2014 gang execution. Salvadoran prosecutors say the victim was chased down, forced to his knees and then shot in the chest, back and face.

Aviles Perez later turned up in California, where authorities say he was arrested following a violent 2023 confrontation involving a machete.

ICE took him into custody this year while his removal case was proceeding.

Federal Judge Jinsook Ohta ruled that holding him for five months without an individualized custody determination violated due process and ordered him released.

So a man identified by Salvadoran prosecutors as an active MS-13 member, with a 20-year aggravated-homicide sentence waiting for him, is no longer being held by ICE while his immigration case proceeds.

How do these judges keep getting away with putting the public in danger?

A Lake Forest police officer is in critical condition after being severely injured while on vacation and his family is working to raise money to have him brought home from Nicaragua by medical transport.

Lake Forest Police Officer Filip Czarnecki was on a personal vacation visiting family in Nicaragua.

Czarnecki suffered a “tragic fall” onto his head that caused a severe traumatic brain injury, according to Lake Forest resident Paul Daizovi, who is a friend and co-worker of Czarnecki’s wife.

Czarnecki was in critical condition in the intensive care unit of a hospital in León, Nicaragua, on a ventilator and in a coma. He has since been transferred to a better-equipped hospital in Managua.

A Detroit police officer was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after accidentally discharging his gun in the locker room Saturday morning, Sept. 5, according to the Detroit Police Department.

At approximately 5 a.m. Saturday, an officer assigned to the 10th Precinct was handling his weapon in the precinct locker room when the firearm discharged and struck him in the foot, according to a statement from DPD.

DPD will launch an internal investigation into the incident in accordance with department policy regarding the discharge of a firearm, according to the statement.

Saturday's incident is at least the third time a DPD officer has accidentally injured himself with a firearm since December 2025, when an officer from the 6th Precinct struck himself in the foot while trying to shoot a dog. In April, an officer accidentally shot himself in the bathroom of the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center in downtown Detroit.
