It is with profoundly heavy hearts that we announce the passing of South Fulton Police Officer Danielle McClendon.
"Danielle was more than an officer and colleague, she was family. The bonds formed in this profession are unlike those of an ordinary job. We spend countless hours together, depend on one another, laugh together, struggle together and, somewhere along the way, coworkers become family. Danielle was our family.
Her loss is felt deeply throughout the South Fulton Police Department. Although our department will not be the same without her, we will hold tightly to the memories she gave us and the impact she made on everyone fortunate enough to know her."

On Sep. 3, at the direction of SOUTHCOM Commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, and in coordination and collaboration with the Government of Ecuador, Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere (JTF-WHEM) successfully interdicted a vessel operating as a floating refueling station in support of illicit at-sea drug trafficking operations in international waters of the Eastern Pacific. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was operating in support of the Los Choneros violent narco-terrorist organization.
Littoral Combat Force 24 launched from USS San Antonio (LPD 17), interdicted, boarded, searched, and cleared the vessel without incident. Individuals removed from the vessel will be safely transferred to Ecuadorian authorities. Once cleared, U.S. forces sank the vessel.
This interdiction cuts off a critical node in the traffickers' logistics chain and advances the goals of the Americas Counter Cartel Coalition (A3C) and JTF-WHEM to dismantle narco-terrorist networks. NEARLY 60,700 DRIVE-ONLY LICENSES... and now Sen. Bernie Moreno wants to know why one of them ended up with a driver his office says was in America illegally before a fatal Ohio crash.
Ohio troopers say Washington G. Naula Ochoa failed to yield at a stop sign and slammed into an SUV driven by 29-year-old Austin Karr Grimes, who did not survive.
Moreno says Ochoa had been issued a Connecticut drive-only license, a program specifically available to applicants who cannot establish lawful immigration status.
His office says CONNECTICUT HAS ISSUED NEARLY 60,700 OF THOSE LICENSES.
Now Moreno is demanding answers from Gov. Ned Lamont about how the program works and what safeguards exist.

Federal Way Public Schools in Washington offered free breakfast and lunch packages to students observing Ramadan this year, and the district specifically advertised that ALL of the meals were halal. New York lawmakers have also pushed legislation requiring halal meal options in certain public schools.
Muslim families absolutely have the right to follow their religious dietary rules. They can buy halal food, pack halal lunches and raise their children according to their faith just like every other American family can.
But religious freedom means government doesn't stop you from practicing your religion. It does NOT mean taxpayers are obligated to finance special religious observances for you.
Are other special religious accommodations being made?
