A shocking video shows the moment a black Oregon State University student was violently arrested by two white police officers for allegedly riding her bicycle on the wrong side of the road. Genesis Hansen, 21, was stopped by Oregon State Police trooper Kelly Katsikis on October 13 as she was traveling down Northwest 16th Street in Corvallis. Katsikis stopped Hansen because she was reportedly riding her bike the wrong way. He asked her for her identification and tried to issue her a citation. Police recently released the body cam footage from the arrest that shows Hansen being arrested on the ground after Katsikis and Corvallis Police Officer Donald Sheldon claimed she wasn't cooperating. ๐ฎ๐ปโโ๏ธ
El Dorado County Deputy Brian Ishmael was killed Wednesday morning while responding to a theft at a marijuana garden at a private residence. He and an off-duty San Joaquin County Sheriff's Deputy were responding to a 'call for service' in Somerset, about 53 miles east of Sacramento. When they arrived, the two officers were immediately fired upon. The San Joaquin County deputy returned fire, authorities said. The off-duty officer was injured and underwent surgery at a local hospital and has since been released. Ishmael, a four-year veteran and married father-of-three, succumbed to his injuries. Flags were lowered to half-staff at El Dorado County Sheriff's Office and a procession of patrol vehicles rode along Wednesday in honor of the fallen deputy. ๐ข #RIP

The bodies of 39 people have been found in a truck in Essex, southeast England. The dead included 38 adults and one teenager, who were discovered in the early hours of Wednesday morning, the Essex Police said in a statement. The ambulance service was calledโฆ
The 39 migrants, locked inside a bitterly cold and airless shipping container, never stood a chance โ their cries for help fading away with no one to hear them. The stowaways โ 38 adults and one teenager โ slowly died in โabsolutely horrendousโ conditions after they tried to reach the UK on a cargo ferry from Belgium. Experts yesterday said the temperature inside the refrigerated trailer unit might have been as low as -13F. The migrants were huddled inside for at least 15 hours by the time the door was opened on an industrial estate in Essex at 1.40am yesterday. Like thousands of others before them, the group are thought to have sneaked inside the container at the busy Belgian shipping port of Zeebrugge, where row after row of rectangular metal containers are lined up ready to be transported to the UK. Police are trying to establish when the group got inside and if smugglers found the container for them and then locked the door behind them. ๐ฎ๐ปโโ๏ธ
The family of a Florida man, who died in his burning Tesla Model S after he crashed, are suing the car company over its futuristic door handles that 'prevented first responders from pulling the victim' from the car. Dr Omar Awan, 48, who was an anesthesiologist, was killed in February when his Tesla crashed near Fort Lauderdale. A police officer arrived almost immediately after the crash but wasn't able to rescue Awan before the car was engulfed in flames. According to a wrongful death lawsuit that was filed by Awan's family last week, the vehicle's door handles were retracted and didn't 'auto-present' when the officer arrived to the scene. The family alleges that because Tesla's handles didn't work, the officer was unable to save Awan. 'Fire engulfed the car and burned Dr Awan beyond recognition - all because the Model S has inaccessible door handles, no other way to open the doors, and an unreasonably dangerous fire risk,' the lawsuit reads.
