Atlanta Police recruit Russ Moses, 24, was killed in a crash this morning. It happened on Moreland Avenue at McDonough Blvd.

Moses was an Atlanta resident and someone who had already dedicated years of his life serving his country and our city—first with the U.S. Coast Guard, then with the Atlanta Department of Corrections and, since March, as a member of APD Recruit Class 302.

This man was charged after allegedly DRAGGING HIS DOG to death behind his vehicle. A stranger saw the dog being dragged for miles and led police to the ded dog and two more animals at the suspect's home.

Horry County Police say 26-year-old Yudiel Navarro-Valazquez tied the dog to the rear of a vehicle and dragged the animal approximately 3.5 MILES along Cherry Hill Road.

A witness called police, who traced the vehicle to a Harvey Road residence and found the dog de*d. Investigators say the animal had been dragged behind the vehicle, placed inside it, and then taken back to the house.

Officers also found two additional dogs whose conditions resulted in two more animal-cruelty charges.

Navarro-Valazquez now faces one felony animal-cruelty charge and two misdemeanor counts.

A San Antonio motorcycle officer was critically injured in an accident while helping to escort a funeral procession on Tuesday, according to San Antonio fire officials.

The crash happened before 2 p.m. near U.S. Highway 281 and Loop 1604.

An official with the San Antonio Fire Department said an officer on a motorcycle was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

EXPOSE THIS JUDGE: Chief Magistrate Ann Marie Rose-Emmons set a $44,000 bond for the daycare worker accused of leaving a ONE-YEAR-OLD BOY black and blue on his very first day of daycare, and she was back out of jail within DAYS.

Police arrested 54-year-old Yvette Thurston after reviewing surveillance video from Little Blessings Child Care in Bainbridge, Georgia. She faces aggravated battery and three counts of first-degree child cruelty after the little boy was hospitalized with bruising, swelling and scratches across his face.

Thanks to Judge Rose-Emmons, Thurston bonded out five days after her arrest.
