NEW: The Florida Bar has rejected a request to investigate DHS General Counsel James Percival for his social media posts criticizing liberal federal judges for their rulings against DHS.

The bar writes that it: β€œdoes not investigate or prosecute sitting officers appointed under the U.S. Constitution while they are in office”, because doing so would β€œencroach on the authority of the federal government concerning these officials.”

The Virginia State Police mourns the passing of retired Superintendent Colonel William F. Corvello, who passed away the evening of Aug. 28, 2026, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Colonel Corvello lived a life dedicated to service. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1951, serving in Korea with the 1st Marine Division, 7th Marine Regiment. Following his military service, he began what would become a remarkable 37-year career with the Virginia State Police in August 1955.

After graduating with the 28th Basic Session in March 1956, Colonel Corvello served as a trooper and steadily rose through the ranks of the Department. His career took him across the Commonwealth and into numerous leadership positions before he was appointed Superintendent of the Virginia State Police in March 1990. He led the Department until his retirement in August 1992, exactly 37 years after first joining VSP.

His commitment to public service did not end with his retirement. Colonel Corvello later answered the call to serve as Chief of Police for the City of Newport News and twice as Interim Chief of Police for the City of Portsmouth, continuing to lend his experience and leadership to Virginia’s law enforcement community.

DEVELOPING: A 20-year-old Kansas City man is dead after police say he was found stabbed in downtown Lawrence early Sunday morning, and the suspect is STILL AT LARGE.

Officers were called to 7th and Massachusetts around 2:40 a.m. for a reported disturbance and found the victim there. He was rushed to a hospital but did not survive.

Now police are asking businesses in the area to check their cameras and urging anyone who witnessed something to come forward. One piece of surveillance footage or one witness could be what investigators need to identify whoever did this.

Read the full story and find out how to send investigators a tip at the link below.

WATCH LIVE: President Donald J. Trump unveils new healthcare affordability initiative at White House

https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1HLRG41nY9/

POTUS announces a major expansion of his Most Favored Nation drug pricing initiative β€” with nine new pharmaceutical companies committing to deliver their lowest drug prices for American patients

POTUS: "With today's announcement, we now have 26 companies representing 90% of the domestic pharmaceutical market... These agreements are projected to save Americans more than $600 billion.

SecKennedy: "Today brings us to a total of 26 companies that have now made agreements with us. These agreements cover nine out of ten drugs that are used by Americans."

DrOzCMS: Two months ago, Medicare began offering eligible patients GLP-1 medications at just $50/month, down from $1,200/month β€” and 600,000 seniors have already signed up to get these medications.

Hear from the CEOs of the companies who just signed Most Favored Nation agreements to deliver lower drug prices to Americans.

FDA Commissioner nominee Dr. Heidi Overton: "It's a huge day for Americans β€” and it's also a huge day for national security."

POTUS on Iran: "They're a failed nation... That doesn't mean we won't smack them."

"Last month, DHS recorded a record number of deportations. What changed to make that possible?"

POTUS: "Nothing."

"Have you ruled out using a nuclear weapon against Iran?"

POTUS: "They're totally defeated militarily β€” so I defeat them and now I should use a nuclear weapon on top of them? What a stupid question."

LOCK HER UP: A 4-YEAR-OLD DOG was found with deep, clean wounds that a veterinarian said were consistent with a KNIFE... and when detectives started asking questions, the woman caring for her apparently tried to blame the injuries on her BABY. Unbelievable.

Sierra Lshae Stubbs is charged with felony aggravated cruelty to animals after police investigated horrific injuries to a Heeler mix named Lucielle.

The veterinarian described multiple wounds as extremely clean cuts consistent with a knife or similar object. One was about six centimeters long and FOUR centimeters deep.

Police also reported finding blood inside the apartment and two razor blades in a vehicle.

Stubbs denied stabbing Lucielle.

But when a detective told her a child could not have caused injuries like these, police say Stubbs responded: β€œYou have no idea the amount of force my baby has."

WHAT?!

She is due in court October 5.

Last night someone’s friend was roaming WeHo blasted with no shoes on. First one sheriff’s deputy shows, and then two.. This guy starts swinging on them. Paramedics and fire come.. it takes nearly six people to physically restrain the man until they could finally MEDICALLY sedate him! Even after that he continued to fight and he ended up with a spit bag over his head.

How can a police department reduce crime if it isn't even paying attention to where crime is happening?

Peter Moskos recounts a striking example from the NYPD in the 90s: chiefs were asked how many people had been shot in New York City the previous yearβ€”and nobody knew.

The data existed. The department simply wasn't focused on crime.

That changed under Bill Bratton, who made reducing violent crime an explicit missionβ€”and put the responsibility squarely on himself.

HERO ALERT: This father of five broke his neck and became paralyzed trying to reach two children caught in a rip current. From his ICU bed, he says he would do it ALL OVER AGAIN.

Josh Collette was at Riviera Beach in San Clemente when he saw two children struggling in the water and immediately ran in to help.

The 42-year-old surfer and swimmer dove headfirst into the ocean, struck a wall of sand created by the swell and rip currents and remembers feeling a β€œsnap” in his neck.

He broke two vertebrae and severely damaged his spinal cord. He currently cannot feel anything below his shoulders.

Praise God, both children made it safely out of the water.

Josh has spent the past two weeks in the ICU, unable to speak, communicating by moving his lips while his wife reads them.

And after EVERYTHING this decision has cost him, he says he would still do it again to help someone in danger. His wife calls him their β€œfamily hero.”

She is absolutely right. Make Josh Collette famous.

JUST IN: Police shoots stabbing suspect in Times Square, NYC.

"Due to a police investigation, avoid West 43rd Street and 7th Avenue. Expect delays in the surrounding area."

NYPD

More details will be provided as they become available.

UPDATE: NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch says officers spent four minutes ordering the knife-wielding Times Square suspect to drop her weapons before she allegedly threatened them, repeating, "I will kill you."

Tisch says multiple officers deployed Tasers as the woman continued advancing with the knives, but they proved ineffective. Two officers then opened fire.

The suspect, identified as 49-year-old Pamela Cisneros of Queens, was pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital.
