Incredible scenes from behind the fire line as firefighters continue the hard work of building containment, protecting homes and communities, and suppressing hot spots on the Ross Fire in Palo Pinto County, Texas.

For days now, strike teams and crews from fire departments across North Texas have worked alongside local firefighters to battle this fire from the ground and the air. These crews are putting in long hours, working through challenging conditions, and doing what they do best.🔥

As of Saturday evening, the fire has reached approximately 90,000 acres and is 31% contained. There is still a long road ahead.

HERO ALERT: But sadly, this news story ends in tragedy. THIS is the kind of courage that deserves to be remembered. Twelve-year-old Charlotte Ghekiere d*ed trying to save her family, and now she is being honored for what she did in her final moments.

Charlotte was inside the Billings, Montana, home when authorities say a relative opened fire on the family. Her father says police confirmed that SHE was the one who called 911 while the massacre was unfolding, trying to get help for everyone inside.

She was 12 YEARS OLD.

Now the Youth Peace & Justice Foundation is posthumously giving Charlotte its National Heroism Award. The group also plans to establish a living memorial tree in Montana in her honor.

Charlotte was supposed to be starting seventh grade. Her family described her as funny, caring, strong-willed and having a heart of gold.

She deserved a lifetime ahead of her. Instead, her final act was trying to save the people she loved.

CHP Air located a reported stolen Tesla, and with assistance from CHP Baldwin Park and CHP East LA, officers initiated an enforcement stop. The driver fled, resulting in a pursuit. Fullerton air support safely tracked the vehicle and directed ground officers to the parked Tesla. Officers secured the vehicle and arrested the driver. No injuries or additional incidents were reported.

Rest in Peace to Columbia Police Officer Christopher Delong Jr. who was shot and killed today (8/29/26) in the line of duty.

Officer Delong was a son, a father, a husband, a friend, co worker and a public servant. He leaves behind his wife, two small children and his parents. His father was in Law Enforcement himself.

Officer Chris Delong Jr. has been with CPD since January 2025.

A moment of extreme cuteness on a Texas ranch has been winning people over.

Kelly Coleman captured the adorable scene, as a kitten, raccoon, and two toddlers were living their best lives while playing on her ranch.

Coleman said she bottle-reared the raccoon after it was found as a newborn by her son. Now, she says, “she knows no different. She plays with the cats and dogs and thinks she is one of them.”
