Praying for the Newport R.I. police officer who was shot in the line of duty this morning.ππ»
On Tuesday, the harbormasterβs office was contacted by a private party out of New Jersey about a stolen sailboat, asking them to be on the lookout.
βInquiries looking for vessels is not an uncommon occurrence and this notification indicated that the same request went to other harbors in the region,β Police Chief Ryan Duffy said.
The harbormasterβs office found a boat with a similar description anchored in Newportβs north anchorage Wednesday morning, according to Duffy.
Just after 9 a.m., four officers approached the boat with three members of the harbormasterβs office to investigate.
As they came alongside the boat, they were met by a man on the bow, who fled below deck and armed himself with a firearm, Duffy said. Shots were then fired.
The suspect, later identified as Brendan Norris, 27, of Newport, died following the shooting, according to a spokesperson for the city.
One officer was shot in the leg during the ordeal. The spokesperson said the officer was treated at Newport Hospital and is now recovering at home.

THIS IS DEMOCRAT-RUN PUBLIC SCHOOLS!!! Chicago Public Schools fired Mario Garcia after a 2005 sexual-misconduct case involving a 14-year-old student and put him on its permanent DO-NOT-HIRE list.
Then another school district hired him to teach THIRD GRADE.
Then, when he applied to West Chicago District 33, NBC reports that all Garcia had to do was falsely claim he had never been terminated.
Now he is jailed on 11 felony counts alleging sexual assault and abuse involving FIVE students from the 2025-26 school year. ELEVEN!
The prior firing was publicly searchable, and somehow he wound up back in a classroom full of elementary-school children.
Parents have every right to be furious.

FULL SPEECH: Independent journalist Nick Shirley blasted California Democrats and Governor Gavin Newsom for allowing Assembly Bill 2624 to become law.
Itβs been dubbed the "Stop Nick Shirley Actβ and removes personal information like addresses of immigrant run organizations.
But Shirley argues it will now be a crime to conduct and publish fraud investigations.
Which in turn would stifle freedom of speech and journalism.

Police encountered this stolen Mercedes multiple times. Hours later, two innocent people were dead.
Authorities say the $220,000 G-Wagon was stolen from a New Jersey shore town after the keys were left inside. Police attempted to stop the SUV during the night. Other officers encountered it again hours later. Then came the devastating ending.
Prosecutors accuse 18-year-old Nayshaun Brown of driving the stolen Mercedes when it crossed into oncoming traffic and slammed head-on into a car carrying Robert Barr Jr., 54, and Alice Stilwell, 67. Both were killed.
Brown and three juveniles were taken into custody after the crash. Court records say the four tried to run before responding officers caught them.
Two people who had absolutely NOTHING to do with the alleged crimes lost their lives.

Is 100 years in prison ENOUGH for bringing rifles, body armor and explosives to attack law enforcement officers?
Federal prosecutors say members of a North Texas Antifa cell arrived at the Prairieland Detention Center in black bloc with
guns, body armor, military-style medical gear and fireworks.
They vandalized the facility and used fireworks as the confrontation escalated.
Then Benjamin Song yelled, βget to the rifles!β According to trial evidence, Song opened fire and SH*T an Alvarado police officer IN THE NECK while unarmed correctional officers ran for cover.
The officer survived.
A jury convicted Song of attempted murder and other federal offenses. His sentence: 100 YEARS.
Seven other defendants sentenced with him received decades behind bars as well.

BREAKINGβ: San Francisco 49ers owner and eastern Ohio native Jed York was arrested in East Palestine, Ohio, over the weekend for engaging in prostitution, court documents show. He pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possessingβ¦
The owner of one of the NFL's biggest franchises just got caught in an undercover prostitution sting.
San Francisco 49ers principal owner Jed York was arrested in Ohio after police say he responded to an undercover online prostitution ad and showed up for the arranged meeting. York was initially charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing
criminal tools.
By the next day, the prostitution charge had been reduced to disorderly conduct, and York pleaded no contest to that charge and possessing criminal tools. The alleged "criminal tool" was the cellphone used to respond to the ad.
Now the NFL is reviewing the case under its Personal Conduct Policy, the SAME policy that applies to players. So what happens when the person under scrutiny isn't one of the players, but the man who OWNS the team?
