The Dallas Police Department’s dedicated interdiction squad has led to another drug trafficker being sentenced to prison, and a nearly 200 pounds of dangerous drugs kept off the street. In October 2025, a narcotics detective and K9 partner Ballantine were doing routine inspections of luggage arriving at Dallas Love Field, when K9 Ballantine alerted his handler to the presence of drugs in six suitcases that had just arrived from Los Angeles, California, bound for Birmingham, Alabama. While those bags were pulled for further inspection, K9 Ballantine detected the presence of drugs in three suitcases from a different flight from Los Angeles that was also headed to Birmingham. In total, officers located approximately 180 pounds of methamphetamine between the nine suitcases and identified the five passengers who checked the bags on the two flights. Officers from DPD’s Love Field Unit located and arrested Curtis Steve, 35, Temarcus Jones, 37, Melanie James, 30, Arianna Booth, 23, and Jakoi Rice, 23, before they could depart on their flights to Birmingham. They were each charged with Manufacture / Delivery of Controlled Substance over 400 grams, a first-degree felony.

On August 18, 2026, Defendant Rice was convicted on his charge and sentenced to 20 years in prison. The remaining defendants’ cases are still pending trial. This investigation is documented under case number 147708-2025.

A vehicle fire call led firefighters to something far more horrifying. Crews responding to a secluded Oregon property discovered human remains. Investigators ultimately found FIVE people dead, along with several animals.

Authorities identified 36-year-old Benjamin Charles Parker as the suspect. Parker lived at the property with one of the victims, 26-year-old Stella Kimsey, and investigators say they do NOT believe the killings were random.

The search for Parker then crossed state lines into Washington, where police found him dead inside his vehicle. Authorities believe he died by suicide.

Now investigators say processing the evidence and reconstructing exactly what happened at that property could take MONTHS.

Praying for Los Angeles Sheriff's deputy who was seriously injured in the line of duty this morning.🙏🏻

A Los Angeles County sheriff's motorcycle deputy was in critical condition Wednesday morning after being involved in a training accident in Santa Clarita, authorities said.

The crash was reported just after 10:30 a.m. near San Francisquito Canyon Road and Copper Hill Drive.

UPDATE: The deputy involved in this incident suffered minor injuries, according to the L.A. County Sheriff's Information Bureau.

On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Aircraft Support Branch was requested by KYEM to assist Wolfe County SAR with a hoist rescue mission in the Red River Gorge for an 18-year-old male who became ill in the area.

Due to the victim's location, challenging terrain, and medical condition, a KSP helicopter was requested to assist with the rescue. Members of the KSP Aircraft Support Branch, in coordination with the KSP Special Operations Branch Special Response Team, KY USAR TF-1, and responding search-and-rescue agencies, successfully located and hoisted the victim from the area.

Following the aerial rescue, the victim was transported by the KSP helicopter to the Middle Fork Volunteer Fire Department, where he was transferred to Powell County EMS for continued medical care and transport to the hospital.

Praying for the Newport R.I. police officer who was shot in the line of duty this morning.🙏🏻

On Tuesday, the harbormaster’s office was contacted by a private party out of New Jersey about a stolen sailboat, asking them to be on the lookout.

“Inquiries looking for vessels is not an uncommon occurrence and this notification indicated that the same request went to other harbors in the region,” Police Chief Ryan Duffy said.

The harbormaster’s office found a boat with a similar description anchored in Newport’s north anchorage Wednesday morning, according to Duffy.

Just after 9 a.m., four officers approached the boat with three members of the harbormaster’s office to investigate.
As they came alongside the boat, they were met by a man on the bow, who fled below deck and armed himself with a firearm, Duffy said. Shots were then fired.

The suspect, later identified as Brendan Norris, 27, of Newport, died following the shooting, according to a spokesperson for the city.

One officer was shot in the leg during the ordeal. The spokesperson said the officer was treated at Newport Hospital and is now recovering at home.

THIS IS DEMOCRAT-RUN PUBLIC SCHOOLS!!! Chicago Public Schools fired Mario Garcia after a 2005 sexual-misconduct case involving a 14-year-old student and put him on its permanent DO-NOT-HIRE list.

Then another school district hired him to teach THIRD GRADE.

Then, when he applied to West Chicago District 33, NBC reports that all Garcia had to do was falsely claim he had never been terminated.

Now he is jailed on 11 felony counts alleging sexual assault and abuse involving FIVE students from the 2025-26 school year. ELEVEN!

The prior firing was publicly searchable, and somehow he wound up back in a classroom full of elementary-school children.

Parents have every right to be furious.
