Closing arguments are expected tomorrow in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial.

Clancy admits to killing her three small children, one as young as eight months old, at their Massachusetts home in January 2023.

Prosecutors argue the killings were deliberate. Her defense says Clancy was experiencing postpartum psychosis and could not appreciate the wrongfulness of her actions.

Nate Foy lays out the latest from the courtroom and explains what's at stake for Clancy as the final witness is called to the stand.

Iryna Zarutska’s family is suing the city of Charlotte, but there’s an even bigger question: Why was Decarlos Brown Jr. free to be on that train in the first place?

Brown had 14 prior arrests and had served more than five years in prison for armed robbery.

Then in January 2025, police encountered him outside a hospital while he was reporting bizarre delusions about something controlling his body.

He was arrested for misusing 911 and released that same day on a written promise to appear.

By July, his own public defender was asking the court for a mental competency evaluation. A judge ordered one on July 28. Less than a month later, prosecutors say Brown randomly stabbed 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska to death on a Charlotte light-rail train.

Yes, security transit failed, but this was bigger than transit. The criminal justice and mental-health systems encountered this man again and again and still failed to keep him off the streets or get him sustained treatment before an innocent woman was killed.

Iryna’s family deserves answers from ALL of them.

Right now in California, convicted sex offenders can hold public office, including on school boards.

I introduced amendments to AB 2691 that would have banned all convicted sex offenders from holding public office. No tiers. No carve-outs. No exceptions.

On a party-line vote, the majority rejected them, protecting a loophole that lets some convicted sex offenders still serve, including on school boards.

Every Californian deserves to know their local officials aren't convicted predators.

My colleagues had the chance to guarantee that. They chose not to.

ARE YOU KIDDING? Families say a $73 MILLION New York City park has become a regular gathering place for people engaging in public nudity, threatening behavior and other disturbing conduct just feet from CHILDREN.

Parents say girls as young as FIVE have been harassed. Park workers have allegedly been threatened. Witnesses reported people having s*x on a bench in broad daylight, setting fires and washing naked inside bathrooms used by kids.

One father said a man wearing an obscene mask started waving at girls during soccer practice and gave him such a bad feeling that he came back to keep an eye on the situation.

This is a public park where children are supposed to be able to practice soccer without their parents wondering what they are going to see next. After the story exploded, the NYPD said it would increase its presence in the area.

Families should not have to fight this hard for basic order in a CHILDREN'S recreation area.

Read what parents and workers say has been happening at the link below.

The Colville community is mourning the loss of Colville Police Officer Aaron W. Davis, 39, who was killed in a motorcycle crash Monday night.

According to the Washington State Patrol, Davis was traveling south on Kitt Narcisse Road about nine miles east of Colville shortly before 10 p.m. Aug. 24 when his motorcycle struck a deer while rounding a curve. The motorcycle went into a deep ditch, ejecting Davis before colliding with a nearby fence. Davis died at the scene. WSP reported he was wearing a helmet and that drugs or alcohol were not involved.

A SupportNow fundraiser has been established for the Davis family, a family of seven, to help with meals, donations and other needs during this difficult time.

NEW: A Kershaw County SC Sheriff’s Office deputy is recovering after a passing driver struck his marked patrol vehicle from behind following a traffic stop.

KCSO Master Deputy Tashawn Moore had completed the traffic stop and was finishing administrative paperwork inside his stationary patrol vehicle, with blue emergency lights fully activated, when an approaching driver struck the rear of the vehicle.

Both the deputy and the driver of the vehicle were taken to the hospital for medical evaluation. Officials say both are expected to make a full recovery.

β€œI am glad God was with our deputy last night,” Kershaw County Sheriff Lee Boan said. β€œThis is just a grim reminder of the dangers our deputies deal with on any given day. They all know this, and yet they still come to work every day to protect and serve their communities. Blessed are the peacemakers.”

Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for the deputy's recoveryπŸ™πŸ»

UPDATE: Colorado State Patrol says one of the troopers who was injured in a shooting today has been released from the hospital.

Officials say the trooper had suffered minor injuries and was discharged from the hospital, expected to make a full recovery.

Law enforcement confirms that the suspect involved in this morning's shooting of two state troopers has died.

CSP confirms that a trooper conducted a traffic stop around 7:15 a.m. on Highway 24 west of Woodland Park when the driver of the vehicle shot at the trooper.

CSP says a second trooper in the area arrived within minutes and entered the subdivision the suspect was believed to have driven into. The suspect shot at the second trooper while driving in the opposite direction, hitting the second trooper while he was in his car, according to CSP.

One trooper suffered serious injuries, and the other suffered minor injuries, according to law enforcement. During a press conference, law enforcement said both troopers are expected to recover. CSP says one trooper is a 15-year veteran, and the other is a 10-year veteran. Teller County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) says the troopers self-transported to the hospital.
