THIS STORY IS INSANE: A Houston Uber driver had TWO POLICE OFFICERS jump into his car during a foot chase and told him to GO after the fleeing suspect.

Anthony Baines was about to pick up a passenger when he saw a shirtless man sprinting through Houston's Heights neighborhood with officers chasing behind him.

Seconds later, the officers were inside his Uber. Baines' dashcam captured one urgently directing him after the suspect: "Go, go that way... go go go go go."
HPD says officers were trying to detain a man accused of threatening to shoot a woman and her children when he ran.

Baines drove the officers during the pursuit before helping get them back to their police vehicle. The suspect ultimately escaped.

Baines says he was glad to help.

The man signed up to drive Uber and somehow ended up assisting Houston cops in a police chase. Would you have done the same thing?

ASH STORM AFTER THE HARLEY FIRE: Strong winds from Sunday night’s storms sent ash from the Harley Fire burn scar blowing through neighborhoods in Box Elder County, Utah.

Carole Croft Jeppesen captured this video from her home as the ash came off the hillside.

“Spectacular dust storm last night, all the ash from the fire came down off the hill for our house,” she said, adding that the powerful winds also broke trees in half.

The Harley Fire is now 100% contained, with all evacuations lifted. The fire burned about 200 acres, including secondary structures, but officials say no homes were lost.

One person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation, with no other injuries reported.

NEW: A mixed martial arts event in Visalia was shut down after fights involving roughly 100 people broke out, drawing a large multi-agency police response, injuring three officers and leading to 15 arrests.

At least 26 Visalia police officers responded, along with deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Farmersville and Exeter police departments.

On August 9, 2026, Denver Police District 2 officers responded to a report of a family disturbance at a residence on N Albion Street. After establishing probable cause, officers made an arrest involving the female party. As the situation unfolded, three children remained on scene, unsure of how they would get home. One of the children, a young man in his early twenties, planned to drive himself and his two younger sisters to their father’s house. But the family vehicle was out of gas, and their family member had no cash or cards to help them get on their way. Without hesitation, Officer Aguirre stepped in. Using $20 from his own pocket, he purchased gas so the kids could get home safely and reunite with their father. 👏

NEW: Virginia State Police is looking for multiple suspects after a shooting ended in a pursuit and crash in Prince George County on Saturday evening.
Just before 6:30 p.m., VSP said a trooper witnessed an exchange of gunfire between people inside two cars near the intersection of Puddledock Road and Temple Avenue.
The agency said the trooper turned around and tried to stop one of the cars, which was believed to have been involved in the shooting.
“The driver refused to stop, and the trooper initiated a pursuit with emergency lights and siren activated,” said Virginia State Police in a press release.

Virginia State Police said the car crashed a short time later near Red Hill Mobile Home Park in the area of Puddledock Road and River Road.
The agency said four men inside the car ran away from the scene.
Virginia State Police said the trooper sustained a minor knee injury during the incident and is expected to make a full recovery.🙏🏻

The Saugus Fire Department is mourning the death of Lt. Damian M. “Jug” Drella, who died last week.

Saugus Fire Lt. Damian "Jug" Drella, 58, died on Aug. 19, 2026, of occupational cancer after nearly 40 years of service. A lifelong Saugus resident who began as a dispatcher in 1987 and became a full-time firefighter in 1991, Drella was also a fire photographer who received the department's highest honor, the Thomas R. Linskey Award of Merit, in 2025. His funeral Mass is scheduled for Aug. 26 at Blessed Sacrament Church, with donations requested for the Saugus Firefighters Relief Association.

THIS IS BEYOND SICK: A 14-YEAR-OLD Afghan girl reportedly spent 21 MONTHS in Taliban custody after refusing to marry a powerful commander around 70 years old, and last month Taliban officials reportedly proposed a THREE-DAY marriage to the SAME MAN as a way to resolve the case.

Bibi Sediqa was reportedly just 12 when she rejected the forced marriage to influential Taliban commander Mawlawi Khodainazar.

Women’s-rights reporting says she was imprisoned after refusing him and has spent nearly two years in Taliban custody, while her family says she endured horrific pressure meant to break her resistance.

Now the Taliban has a new proposal: marry her to the same man for three days so the case could supposedly be settled.

Her family refused.

THIS is what happens when women and girls are forced to live under a religious legal system that treats their basic rights as negotiable.

BREAKING/EXCLUSIVE: DHS tells FoxNews that ICE has quietly carried out one of its most successful operations in agency history, resulting in the arrests of 1,328 illegal aliens in just a 14-day span in the states of Virginia & Maryland. Nearly 400 of the aliens had criminal convictions or pending criminal charges, including a Salvadoran illegal alien wanted by police in Richmond, VA on a murder warrant. A CHP patrol car crashed into a building after colliding with another vehicle in Van Nuys early Monday morning.

According to the authorities, the accident transpired at around 2:57 a.m. August 24, on Tyrone Avenue and Oxnard Street.

Investigators reported that a CHP SUV and a Honda sedan collided at the intersection. The impact pushed the SUV off the roadway and it crashed into a building.
