The search for a missing US Assistant Attorney ended after he was found dead in a San Diego federal building, marking β€œone of the darkest days” in the office’s history.

Local police discovered former Acting US Attorney Andrew Haden, 48, dead inside an office at the Edward J. Schwartz Federal Building Wednesday, but ruled that no foul play is suspected.

Haden was reported missing earlier in the day Wednesday and his body was found hours later.

Haden joined the US attorney’s office in 2010 and twice stepped in as acting US attorney for the Southern District of California during leadership changes, serving roughly two months in both 2023 and 2025.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of one of the finest men ever to wear the Amityville Police Department uniform, Ernest β€œErnie” Thompson.

Ernie dedicated his entire 30-year law enforcement career to the Amityville Police Department, giving his time, energy, and unwavering commitment to protecting and serving the residents of this incredible community. During his career, Ernie rose through the ranks and was promoted to Sergeant, where he spent the latter half of his career leading, mentoring, and overseeing the officers with whom he had proudly served.

Rest Easy Brother. Prayers for his family of blue and blood.πŸ™πŸ»

NEW: Xandria Harris, 30, was convicted for her role in the 2021 shooting that killed Bradley police Sgt. Marlene Rittmanic and critically injured Officer Tyler Bailey.

Xandria Harris, 30, was convicted of first-degree murder and attempted murder for her role in a December 2021 shooting that killed Bradley Police Sgt. Marlene Rittmanic and critically injured Officer Tyler Bailey. The incident occurred at a Comfort Inn when the officers approached Harris’ room to issue a citation and arrest her boyfriend, Darius Sullivan, who subsequently opened fire. While the defense argued Harris was a victim of Sullivan’s controlling behavior, she was found guilty in a two-week trial; Sullivan was separately convicted in 2024 and is serving a life sentence.

A controversial $2.3 million plan to surround MacArthur Park with fencing up to 11 feet tall is facing opposition from a Los Angeles commission concerned about permanently closing off the historic public space.

Karen Bass will do literally anything BUT enforce the law.

Instead of putting the criminals behind bars, they put the park and you behind bars.

Record-breaking heat could be in the cards for many across the South this weekend. Here’s what we’re tracking in the national forecast. 🌑️
πŸ™42❀5🀬4πŸ‘2🍾1
Weekly Rollup:

This FBI is delivering. Here are just some of the results from this past week:

Crime in the Nation data shows a 20% drop in the murder rate and the largest year-over-year decline in violent crime on record. We also saw major decreases in rape, robbery, aggravated assault, and burglary.

Our agents continue to deliver: hundreds of arrests, nearly 200 firearms seized in a single operation, major drug and cryptocurrency takedowns, the recovery of a hostage, and the disruption of a Capitol bombing plotβ€”saving lives.

We also launched β€œVoices Not Forgotten,” offering new rewards of at least $25,000 for information that helps solve cases in Indian Country.

We’re just getting started!

AMERICA UNDER ATTACK: The FBI says it stopped a woman who converted to Islam about five years ago and later pledged allegiance to ISIS from plotting to BOMB the New York State Capitol and kill lawmakers inside.

Jessica Bowie, 35, allegedly pledged allegiance to ISIS, surveilled the Capitol and developed a plan to kill state senators and destroy as much of the building as possible.

Federal officials described the case as an example of someone β€œradicalized by our enemies.”

Bowie's alleged online messages show just how far that radicalization went. Prosecutors say she wrote, β€œPraise be to Allah for September 11th,” and recorded a formal oath of allegiance to ISIS.

On August 19, agents arrested her as she took possession of what she believed was a REAL explosive device to use in the attack.

Authorities say she planned to flee afterward to ISIS-controlled territory in Syria.
This is exactly why counterterrorism investigations matter. The FBI says Bowie had moved beyond extremist rhetoric and was preparing to carry out an actual attack.

HATS OFF to the agents who stopped it before Americans were killed.
