Amber Thompson, an openly transgender activist, is running for the Area 4 seat on the Ventura Unified School District Board of Education.

Thompson helped develop Ventura’s controversial CARE policy, which restricts the city’s cooperation with certain federal enforcement involving illegal immigration, abortion, and "gender-transition" services.

Now Thompson is seeking authority over policies affecting students, parents, teachers, classrooms, and school libraries. And political allies are lining up behind the campaign.

Thompson has been endorsed by California State Superintendent Tony Thurmond, several Democratic officials, and Stonewall Democrats of Ventura County.

This is exactly why parents cannot afford to ignore local elections. Even more so - they cannot afford to leave their children in government schools.

The people elected to school boards shape what children are taught, which policies govern their schools, and how much influence parents retain.

She was sentenced under Iran’s Sharia-based qisas system, which allows a life to be taken as retribution.

Nayyeri was hanged August 8 at Qazvin Central Prison. She was only 24 years old.

No clemency. No mercy. No second chance.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Custody Assistant Glenda Razzano, who tragically lost her life in an off-duty traffic collision on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

Custody Assistant Razzano joined the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on July 5, 2006, after completing Custody Assistant Academy Class #55. She was assigned to Pitchess Detention Center, where she faithfully served the Department for more than 20 years.

Glenda will be remembered as a kind and caring person whose presence touched the lives of those around her. Her loss is deeply felt throughout our Department family.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Glenda’s family, friends, and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

WATCH: Jacksonville Sheriff's Office releases intense footage of one of their sergeants performing a PIT maneuver on a group of thugs who were suspected of robbing elderly people.

The footage was captured by COPS cameras.

"For the first time in 20 years, the COPS cameras were rolling in the River City, capturing our officers and detectives hard at work," the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

"Our Gang Investigations and Community Problem Response Units were tracking armed suspects who were robbing elderly people leaving banks. When we moved in, the suspects sped off onto the Arlington Expressway..."

"We arrested the driver and passenger at the scene and later caught up with another person who ran away. Two of the suspects have since pleaded guilty for their crimes."

HERO ALERT: An armed citizen stopped a shotgun threat inside a crowded Utah gas station before the suspect could fire.

Police say 23-year-old Ofa’tangikivaha Angilau became belligerent after a clerk refused to sell him alcohol without identification.

Another customer intervened and helped remove him from the store.

But Angilau returned carrying a shotgun.

The armed citizen immediately opened fire, striking Angilau before he could discharge the weapon or hurt anyone inside.

Angilau did not survive. The armed citizen remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

A dangerous man entered a crowded business carrying a shotgun. Thankfully, a law-abiding citizen was prepared to stop him. When a threat appears without warning, an armed citizen may be the only person standing between innocent people and tragedy.

A Kentucky 1-year-old allegedly spent his final days confined to a playpen surrounded by animal waste, soiled diapers, trash and raw sewage.

Police say Deavan Williams knew the child had been eating part of a feces contaminated diaper before becoming unresponsive. Williams claimed he had fallen asleep and that the little boy choked.

Investigators also accused Williams of intentionally feeding the child extremely spicy food and subjecting him to cruel punishment.

Williams is now charged with wanton m*rder and first degree criminal abuse. The child’s mother, Alexandrae Price, is also charged with first degree criminal abuse.

This is SICK and outright evil. How does any adult allow a defenseless
child to live like this?
