🦉🚔 Serving and Protecting: Denton County Deputy Rescues Injured Owl While on Call 🚔🦉

Justin, TX — A Denton County Sheriff’s Office deputy found himself handling an unexpected rescue Sunday after spotting a small owl in distress while responding to a call in Justin.

Deputy Nordt noticed the injured owl and contacted Animal Control Officer Deputy Alvarez, who reached out to a local wildlife rescue for assistance.

Nordt carefully transported the owl to meet a member of the wildlife rescue team, who took the bird into their care.

The owl was found to have a broken leg, but the rescue team said it is expected to recover well with proper treatment and care.

From protecting residents to helping some of Denton County’s smallest residents, sometimes serving the community comes with feathers. 🦉

🐴State Trooper Locates Lost Horse🐴

Troopers responded to Lake of the Ozarks State Park for a rider who was bucked off a horse. The rider was not injured, but the horse ran off.

Thankfully, Trooper Justice Simpson located the horse and reunited it with the  owner.

BREAKING OVERNIGHT:
A Las Vegas police officer was taken to UMC after being shot early Monday morning while responding to a call for a domestic disturbance. The sheriff has said that the officer’s injuries are non-life-threatening.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, at 12:29 a.m., there was a call for a reported shooting in the 4500 block of Pigeon Point Court, near the intersection of Peace Way and South Buffalo Drive.

When officers arrived, the man involved had allegedly barricaded himself inside the home and set it on fire.

From inside the home, the man allegedly shot through the door and hit an officer.

NEW: The alarming situation unfolded on Alaska Airlines Flight 305 as the Boeing 737 taxied for departure at Miami International Airport.

A Seattle-bound commercial flight was abruptly halted on the tarmac and forced into an emergency cockpit lockdown after a passenger allegedly threatened to hijack the jet.

Deputies from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office rushed to the gate and deplaned all passengers. Investigators ultimately determined there was “no credible threat”. The two unruly travelers were removed and temporarily banned, while remaining passengers reboarded and completed their trip to Seattle.
