PURE EVIL. Seven-year-old William Evans, a child with developmental disabilities, was discovered deceased in a closet after he had been held under water, beaten, and burned.

Police said he was bound with duct tape when they found him.

His mother, Kaitlin Evans, lived with two men who called themselves transgender. Evans, along with Nessa Keaney and Kirby Rankin, have pleaded not guilty to m*rder and child-endangering charges.

One experienced detective described the allegations as among the worst cases of child abuse he had encountered during his career.

William was vulnerable. He relied on these adults for protection, and they are accused of making his life a nightmare.

Justice for William means real and PERMANENT accountability. This level of evil should never walk free.

NEW: The City of Chandler, Arizona, announced on Aug. 7 that they will stop using dozens of Flock automated license plate readers. It comes as the city is looking into potential misuse after audit revealed "an anomaly in the use of the Flock system."

NEW: An East L.A. AutoZone store was ransacked for the second time in 24 hours amid another street takeover.

The first illegal gathering took place around 2:30 a.m. Saturday at Atlantic and Olympic boulevards. A break-in occurred around the same time at the AutoZone, with burglars smashing a window and video showing merchandise strewn over the floor inside. No injuries were reported.

A couple hours later Saturday, another large takeover was reported in the Gramercy Park community of South Los Angeles in the area of Western Avenue and Century Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

No arrests were made and no injuries were reported in that case either.

The Summit County Utah Sheriff's Office has issued a GO evacuation order for West Henefer due to the Rocky Canyon Fire.

The fire has expanded on the northeast side and is moving toward Henefer, Utah. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office has issued new evacuation orders for areas south of Henefer.

The fire has also spotted across SR-65 heading NE toward area between Hennefer and Echo Lake, I-84 corridor.

🚧 Road Closures: Road closures have been expanded along SR-65, West Henefer Road, and near East Canyon Reservoir to support firefighter operations, including planned firing operations. Please stay out of closed areas and follow all directions from law enforcement and fire personnel.

NEW: A dramatic rescue unfolded along the San Diego–Mexico border after an individual attempting to cross the border became stranded at the top of the border barrier and was unable to safely get down.

San Diego-area emergency crews and firefighters responded to the scene, working to safely rescue the individual from the elevated position.

MISCARRIAGE OF JUSTICE: A 15-year-old was acquitted of attempted m*rder after stabbing his teacher in the HEAD.

The attack happened at Milford Haven Comprehensive School in Wales.

Prosecutors said the student followed history teacher Vicki Williams into an empty classroom after claiming he needed help with his schoolwork.

Once they were alone, he closed the door, pulled a kitchen knife from his bag and stabbed her in the head. Williams also suffered injuries to her hands and back before another teacher intervened.

The student claimed the injuries were "accidental." Prosecutors argued that he deliberately isolated and targeted her.

The jury acquitted him of attempted m*rder but convicted him of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and unlawful wounding.

He will be sentenced on September 3rd.

Teachers already have to remain constantly alert for danger. How much more fear will they face when an attempt on a teacher’s life brings so little accountability?

Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies are assisting Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District with evacuations related to the Fred Mountain Fire and Bug Fire.

The evacuation site is located at the Evelyn Mount Community Center, located at 1301 Valley Road in Reno.

All livestock being evacuated can be taken to the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center through Gate #2, located at 1350 N. Wells Avenue.

K9 HERO: A Polk County K9 returned home on Sunday after surviving a critical shooting that led to emergency surgery and the amputation of his front leg, according to the sheriff's office.

K9 Ace suffered critical injuries on Thursday night while protecting local deputies and the surrounding community. PCSO said his partner, Deputy Natalie Oestreich, quickly provided medical aid on the scene before carrying him to safety.
