As Ofc. Kauppila left Harborview Medical Center, dozens of officers from multiple agencies lined up outside, cheering him on and reminding him that he is surrounded by an incredible law enforcement family.

NEW: Two Cobb County Georgia police officers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries on Tuesday after a chase and crash.
On Tuesday morning, officers received information about a U-Haul that had been used in an armed robbery in Memphis, Tennessee.
The driver hopped out and tried to runoff, but didnβt put the U-Haul in park.
The truck started rolling down an incline, hitting a police car and pushing it into another patrol vehicle. An officer was briefly stuck between the two patrol cars.
A second officer was injured in the crash. Both officers are expected to be OK.
In total, five suspects were detained and are being held for the further investigation by Memphis police. The driver of the U-Haul will face additional charges.

Police say the crash occurred in the 200 block of East Little Creek Road just before 8 a.m. The officer was responding to a call for service with emergency lights and sirens, when a vehicle, that was exiting I-64 West onto East Little Creek Road, struck the police vehicle.

NEW: A driver crashed into a business and an Edwardsville Illinois police squad car Tuesday morning, sending an officer to the hospital.
The SUV struck the Honey Baked Ham seasonal store, which was not open at the time of the crash. The vehicle also hit an Edwardsville police squad car. An officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police are investigating what caused the driver to crash into the business.
The Honey Baked Ham store is a seasonal location and will not reopen until the holiday season, giving the business time to make repairs.

Yesterday, Tri-City Post Tpr. Jacob Moore received the Blue Diamond Award for putting his life on the line and getting seriously injured while doing so.
On April 12, 2024, Trooper Moore and his partner were in pursuit of a suspect vehicle that had been involved in a homicide. Trooper Moore and his partner pursued the suspect vehicle along with local law enforcement. The driver left the roadway and drove into a field, then two occupants fled the vehicle and jumped over a high fence. Both troopers exited their patrol vehicle and pursued the suspects. As Trooper Moore attempted to jump over the fence, he suffered a serious injury to his knee and hands.
The homicide suspects were apprehended shortly after by other officers. Trooper Mooreβs injury required professional medical care and lengthy rehabilitation.
