The environmental crimes investigator for the Precinct 2 Caldwell County Constable’s Office drowned Saturday in the Nueces River, according to a news release.

In a news release, the constable’s office said Ryan McKnight died while on a “personal outing” in Uvalde County.

The drowning happened near the Cooksey Dam, Uvalde County Sheriff Ruben Nolasco said in a Facebook post.

McKnight’s work with the constable’s office involved investigating illegal dumping, environmental violations and other quality of life offenses.

“Ryan was much more than our Environmental Crimes Investigator — he was a valued member of our Constable’s Office family. He approached every assignment with dedication, integrity, and a servant’s heart,” Constable Paul Easterling said in the release.

McKnight also supported school districts in Caldwell County.

The Leesburg Police Department, Florida sadly announced the death of Sergeant John Hollowell who passed away suddenly in Ocala.

After serving our nation in the United States Army, Sergeant Hollowell began his career with the Leesburg Police Department on October 17, 2002.  Sergeant Hollowell served with great pride and zeal throughout his twenty-four-year career, and he received multiple awards and commendations for his outstanding service. During his tenure, he worked as a K9 handler, SWAT officer, Task Force Officer, and as a Criminal Investigator before taking over Squad 3 as their patrol sergeant in August of 2024.

Sergeant Hollowell was a courageous leader and was well-loved by everyone at the police department.

Former NYPD Assistant Chief Scott Henderson has resurfaced in law enforcement, taking on a new role as the Chief of Police for the City of Glenarden, Maryland.

Henderson’s departure from the NYPD was not a typical retirement.

The NYPD alleged that Henderson:

• Caused or permitted false NYPD attendance and employment records.

• Allowed an unauthorized accommodation for a detective without following required procedures.

• Approved or enabled a “work-from-home” arrangement in which the detective allegedly received approximately $149,711 in salary and benefits for 2,208 hours of work the NYPD alleged were not performed.

• Made false or misleading statements to Internal Affairs during its investigation.

Rather than fight the charges, in July 2025, he entered into a negotiated disciplinary settlement.

Under the agreement, he:

• Forfeited significant accrued leave.

• Agreed not to withdraw his service retirement application.

• Retired from the NYPD effective July 26, 2025.

• Accepted a penalty of dismissal that was suspended in favor of one year of dismissal probation.

• Agreed not to pursue claims against the City of New York or the NYPD for wages or reinstatement.

Now, just a little over a year later, Henderson has been selected to lead the Glenarden Police Department.

According to a press release from the City of Glenarden:

I am confident his experience and his hands-on, people-first approach to leadership make him exactly the right fit to serve and protect our community.  I am proud to welcome Chief Henderson to the City of Glenarden.” Mayor Curtis stated. Henderson’s expertise includes crime reduction strategies, emergency management, community engagement, organizational leadership, and interagency collaboration. His leadership style emphasizes professionalism, accountability, transparency, and building meaningful relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

“As Chief of Police I will lead the Glenarden Police Department with a vision centered on innovation, collaboration, and public trust. I am committed to strengthening partnerships with residents, businesses, elected officials, and community organizations. I will also prioritize employee development, officer wellness, and modern policing strategies to ensure every resident feels safe and respected,” Chief Henderson said.”

BREAKING: Armed suspect arrested at Rancho Palos Verdes golf course ahead of Trump visit.

LASD deputies and federal partners arrested 38-year-old Jeanine John Taele of Downey following a security investigation at Trump National Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes.

According to LASD, Taele was already under investigation by the El Segundo Police Department for robbery. Deputies located him and his vehicle in the golf course parking lot.

During the detention, deputies recovered a 16-round magazine loaded with hollow-point ammunition from his pocket. A subsequent search of his vehicle allegedly uncovered a loaded handgun with a round chambered, along with an additional loaded magazine containing hollow-point ammunition.

The questions now are: Why was he at Trump National? Was President Trump or anyone under Secret Service protection at the property? Was this connected to the robbery investigation, or was there a broader security concern?

It is with great sadness that we share that Adams County Colorado Sheriff's Office Deputy Jonathan Rohde passed away this past weekend after a long battle with cancer.

Jonathan joined the Sheriff's Office in 2017. He began his career as a Detention Specialist before becoming a deputy in November 2017. During his service, he worked in both the Jail and Patrol Divisions. He was assigned to the Booking Unit and the Court Security Unit. Jonathan also served on the Jail Special Operations Group (JSOG), the Mobile Field Force Team (MFFT), and as a Taser instructor.

CHP Officers Florez, a father-and-son duo, recently teamed up in the South Los Angeles Area. Officer Florez (father, pictured left), assigned to the CHP Temecula area office, was approved to work a shift alongside his son in South Los Angeles area.

During their 12-hour shift, the two patrolled the I-110 freeway and the Vincent Thomas Bridge. Reflecting on the experience, Officer Florez (father) shared, “It was a proud moment to see my son performing the same duties I’ve done for nearly 28 years.” He added, “He has a bright career ahead, and I couldn’t be more honored that he chose to follow in my footsteps.”

Officer Florez (son) has been stationed in the CHP South Los Angeles Area since graduating from the CHP Academy on January 5, 2024.
