This morning, we had the honor of paying our respects to Nicholas Dale, the helicopter pilot who gave his life while fighting the Gold Mountain Fire.

NEW: Two Bradford County Florida Sheriff’s deputies were hurt after a crash involving two deputy patrol vehicles and another vehicle.

Bradford County Sheriff’s Office officials say the crash happened on State Road 100 near Stansbury Drive, in front of the old Southside Elementary School, just before 2 p.m.

Officials say one of the deputies was taken to the hospital due to a hand injury; the other deputy reported a shoulder injury. The citizen driver reported a wrist injury. None of the injuries were life-threatening.

Before retiring in 2024, Zadie served as a narcotics and human remains detection K-9 alongside her handler for nearly 10 years. Four men are facing kidnapping and assault charges after police say a 28-year-old man was beaten, forced into a Nantucket residence and found restrained with an extension cord.

The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
