A member of the public found explicit videos on a cell phone left behind at a Franklin business and immediately alerted police.

That report launched an investigation that exposed years of child sexual exploitation by youth soccer coach Camilo Campos-Hurtado. He has now been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison.

The Justice Department credited the citizen, Franklin Police, Homeland Security Investigations and the U.S. Marshals for bringing the crimes to light.

NEW: A Shelbyville Indiana police officer was injured in a crash on Wednesday afternoon.

In a Facebook Post, the Shelbyville Police Department indicated that, around 3:30 p.m., its officers were pursuing multiple suspects who “had allegedly committed crimes in another county.”

That pursuit ultimately resulted in a crash. Per SPD, one officer was also “involved in a crash responding to the pursuit.” It’s currently unclear if the officer was injured in the crash that was the result of the pursuit or a separate crash entirely.
