This is Californiaβs most iconic tourist destinationβthe Santa Monica Pier β this morning.
Instead of welcoming millions of visitors with clean beaches and safe public spaces, people are greeted by overflowing trash, homeless encampments, benches used as makeshift bedrooms, and the smell of urine and feces hanging in the air. Parking lots are littered with garbage, sidewalks are neglected, and parts of the area feel more like a post-apocalyptic movie set than one of the worldβs most famous beach destinations.
California politician Gavin Newsom and his trash sidekick Corrupt Karen Bass have βmysteriouslyβ MADE 32 Billions dollars of tax payer money disappear into their pockets without a sjngle homeless person seeing even $1. Tens of billions of dollars on homelessness programs over the past several years, yet residents and visitors continue to ask the same question: Why do conditions in places like this still look like this?
Regardless of where you stand politically, this should not be considered acceptable. Residents, businesses, and the millions of tourists who visit Santa Monica every year deserve clean, safe, and well-maintained public spaces.
When will this finally be cleaned up?

It is with profound sadness West Redding Fire Department, Connecticut, announces the loss of Cooper Whiteside. βCoopβ was known to many and served over many years as Firefighter, EMT, Lieutenant, Training Captain and Vice President.
Cooper was more than a fellow first responder; he was a familiar face to many throughout our community. His dedication to serving others was evident throughout his time as a Captain with the West Redding Volunteer Fire Department, his service with the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company, and most recently as a police officer with the Bridgeport Police Department. His commitment to helping others and his passion for public service left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
A life dedicated to serving and protecting others has been taken far too soon. His service, commitment, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Rest Easy Brother. Prayers for his family of red and blood.ππ»
