NEW: A Camdenton police officer sustained moderate injuries Saturday following a crash at the intersection of U.S. 54 and Business Route 5 in Camden County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The officer was traveling east in a Ford SUV patrol vehicle with its sirens and lights activated when he entered the intersection on a red traffic signal, according to the report. At the intersection, the driver of a Volkswagen sedan struck the patrol vehicle around 2:10 p.m.

The 33-year-old officer was taken to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach by ambulance. There were no injuries listed in the report for the 22-year-old driver of the Volkswagen sedan.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, according to the report. 

The sedan was totaled, and there was moderate damage to the patrol vehicle, according to the report.

Sad news coming from the fire to the west of the Aspen Acres Fire, the Gold Mountain Fire, Colorado sound as if they have had a helicopter crash.

Gunnison County Sheriff Adam Murdie would like to provide an update that the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team has recovered the body of the pilot from the aircraft. The body will be transported to the Gunnison County Coroner’s Office.

At 5:17 p.m. July 12, 2026, the Gunnison Regional Communications Center received a call regarding an aircraft down in the Silver Jack Reservoir located in the southwestern corner of Gunnison County. The aircraft has been confirmed to be engaged with firefighting operations with the Gold Mountain Fire.

We will not be releasing any further information until the next of kin has been notified. All inquiries should be directed to the media contact listed above

The Gold Mountain Fire outside Ouray, Colorado, remains one of the more active fires in the state, now 36,258 acres, and 13% contained.

Police leader blasts ‘spineless’ Minneapolis officials for Somali gang problem, staffing woes

Joe Gamaldi, the national vice president of the Fraternal Order of Police, joined Liz Collin on her podcast.

Gamaldi weighed in on some of the problems with policing in Minneapolis as yet another violent summer in Minneapolis unfolds on the heels of an alleged sex scandal that led the former chief of police to pack his bags.  

He also discussed problems with crime and leadership as as the department continues to struggle meeting minimum staffing levels.  “It’s very clear that they are willing to put their failed ideology over the safety of their community members, and it’s sickening,” Gemaldi said.

NEW: A Fort Worth officer is recovering after a collision with a juvenile driver charged with DUI, police say.

A teenage driver is facing charges after crashing into a marked police vehicle late Saturday night, injuring a Fort Worth officer, authorities said.

The driver of the pickup truck, whose identity has not been released because she is a minor, was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) by a minor. She was field-released to her parents at the hospital following the crash.

Emergency medical personnel took the officer and the teenager to a hospital for treatment. Details regarding the severity of the officer's injuries have not yet been released.

Today we honor a partner who gave everything to this community. In just four-and-a-half years, Dozer helped track down dangerous criminals, took more than 126 pounds of illegal narcotics off the streets, and removed over $250,000 in drug proceeds. His impact is undeniable, and Douglas County is safer because of him. He was an incredible partner to Sergeant Genevish, and the bond they built shows in every success they shared.

After a career filled with courage, loyalty, and heart, K9 Dozer officially ends his watch and steps into a well deserved retirement.
