A string of violent confrontations from this Portland man led to a group of women going on the offensive and attacking him.

As investigators review the incident, the case is also drawing attention to concerns about policing resources, lack of funding, and how repeat offenders are handled, especially after this suspect did not received jail time.

Just steps from Crypto.com Arena, home to championship banners and sold-out crowds, you'll find a completely different side of Los Angeles.

Turn the corner, and an abandoned apartment building covered in graffiti stands in sharp contrast to one of the country's most recognizable sports and entertainment districts. It's a reminder that in LA, prosperity and neglect can exist side by side.

From there, we head to Figueroa Street, where everyday street activity and side hustles offer another glimpse into the city's unique character. These scenes are part of the complex reality that many residents and visitors experience beyond the postcards and Hollywood image.

Los Angeles is full of contrasts. Luxury apartments stand near vacant buildings. World-famous venues sit blocks away from neighborhoods facing economic challenges. It's a city that's constantly evolvingβ€”and often difficult to define with a single narrative.

Whether you see these differences as signs of opportunity, growing pains, or something else entirely, they raise important questions about development, housing, and the future of downtown LA.

Watch the full video to see these locations for yourself and hear what people on the street had to say.

What's the biggest contrast you've noticed while exploring Los Angeles?

Chicago PD arrested him 5 times in 13 months on drug sale charges.

Prosecutors dropped most of the cases.

But now he’s got a real big problem.

One of his recent customers turned out to be an undercover ATF agent.

St. Paul officer's killer among 35 cases before Clemency Review Commission

The commission, which meets four times a year, met Friday morning to discuss 35 cases. Nine commissioners reviewed each commutation application and determined whether they would be denied without a hearing. If the application is not denied, it remains on the list for an eventual hearing, during which the Minnesota Clemency Review Commission will make a recommendation to the Minnesota Board of Pardons, which has the final say.

Among the cases reviewed Friday was of Ronald Reed, who is serving a life sentence for the 1970 killing of St. Paul Police Officer James Sackett. Officer Sackett's murder remained unsolved for decades before Reed was convicted in 2006. Reed is now seeking parole for the fourth time.

Most of us pay a monthly water bill. Others don’t even have access to running water and rely on sources like this just to fill a jug. It’s a reminder that the homelessness crisis is also a basic-needs crisis.

Here at the Proud Boys of Columbus chapter, we understand that not everyone is a weapons expert, or maybe you don’t have much experience with firearms at all. So that’s why we’re going to throw out a little free advice…

If you happen to stumble upon a crashed Mi-24 and decide to cannibalize the YakB minigun so you can field fab up a pintle mount and bolt it to what is now the coolest looking technical this side of the Dnieper River, make sure…and this can’t be stressed enough…that you mount the weapon on the center axis of the mount.

You see, while each one of those 12.7mm rounds has a fair, yet very manageable, amount of recoil individually, when you’re spitting out 8 in a second, that quickly stacks up to what engineers call β€œa metric shit-ton of fuckin’ recoil” real fast.

Now, if your weapon is off center, you just converted said metric shit-ton of fuckin’ linear recoil, to rotational force, also known as torque. Enough torque to maybe spin you around like a top, nearly killing everyone around you, and finally tossing you completely out of what is now the most embarrassing technical on either side of the Dnieper River.

Also watch those barrels, they’re hot…

Thank you for coming to our TED Talk.
