Trump Accounts May Create Millionaire Gen-Beta Retirees

Contributions are now flowing after the Treasury Department launched its much-anticipated Trump account app this week. Any child under the age of 18 with a Social Security number can participate, and US citizens born between January 2025 and December 2028 can receive a $1,000 government deposit. Maximum annual contributions are set at $5,000, with the money automatically invested in low-cost index funds. It’s a fantastic approach to savings, according to Adam Bergman, a tax attorney and founder of IRA Financial, one that will give millions of young Americans a financial head start by the time they reach adulthood. The biggest impact of the accounts, though, could actually be felt many decades down the line, when the emerging generation of Americans is ready to retire.

It is with profound sadness that Sheriff Smith and the Athens County Sheriff's Office reflect on the life, legacy, and service of Lt. Steve Sedwick.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Lisa, the entire Sedwick family, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving Steve.

Steve began his law enforcement career with the Albany Police Department in 1992 before joining the Athens County Sheriff's Office as a Special Deputy in 1993 and becoming a full-time Deputy Sheriff in 1995. Over the next 25 years, he served our community with honor as a Deputy, Detective, Sergeant, and Lieutenant before retiring in 2020. Earlier this year, Steve returned to the Sheriff's Office in the Concealed Carry and Evidence Division, continuing a lifetime of service even while facing his greatest personal challenge.

For more than three decades, Steve dedicated his life to serving and protecting the citizens of Athens County. Throughout his career, Steve investigated and solved countless criminal cases, crimes against children, and earned numerous commendations for his dedication and service. He approached every assignment with professionalism, integrity, and genuine concern for the people he served.

Rest Easy Brother. Prayers for his family of blue and blood.πŸ™πŸ»

A simple favor can carry serious legal consequences.

The ATF and TheJusticeDept are reminding the public that purchasing a firearm on behalf of someone who cannot legally buy one is a federal crime that can result in significant prison time.

Praying for the Toledo Ohio police officer who was injured in the line of duty this morning.πŸ™πŸ»

A Toledo police officer was injured Friday when a police cruiser he was operating crashed during a pursuit of two people wanted on felony charges.
Officer Matthew Hughes was injured when he struck his head inside the police vehicle, which crashed in a water-sewer work area where a portion of the roadway had been removed. He was taken to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center for evaluation, police said in a report. His condition was not released.

At 9:06 a.m., Officer Hughes spotted the suspect vehicle at Laskey and Tremainsville roads and attempted to stop it. The driver refused to stop, and the pursuit ensued, ending in the crash at a roadway hole on Asbury Drive, according to a police report.

The suspect vehicle, which was southbound on Asbury, drove through the work area. Officer Hughes’ vehicle, however, struck the far edge of the hole as he attempted to slow down.
