β€œMuch more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.”

DEVELOPING: Fans across Los Angeles are celebrating Mexico's 2-0 win over Ecuador. 7th/Union: Large crowds gathering in the area, air unit requested for crowd assesment, per Los Angeles Alerts. 🧒 LIVE: https://www.youtube.com/live/ZCXqEAWfjJk 🧒 Smoke Live:…
On Tuesday, June 30, following Mexico's victory, several hundred people gathered along Whittier Boulevard to celebrate. Sheriff's Response Team (SRT) personnel, patrol deputies and specialized units were strategically deployed to support safe celebrations while ensuring a rapid response to emerging public safety concerns.

Three deputies sustained injuries during the incident. All three deputies were treated for their injuries and later released.

"I'm grateful our deputies were able to return home to their families that night without suffering more serious injuries," said Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert G. Luna. "People have every right to celebrate with family and friends, and we want those celebrations to be safe and enjoyable for everyone. What occurred Tuesday night crossed the line from celebration to criminal violence. Throwing bottles, rocks, explosive devices, or any other dangerous objects at our deputies, or anyone else, is completely unacceptable. Our deputies are there to protect the community, and they should not be assaulted for doing their jobs. If you assault our deputies or endanger others who are celebrating responsibly, we will identify you, arrest you, and hold you accountable."

The Department remains committed to protecting every person's right to celebrate peacefully while ensuring the safety of our communities. We will not tolerate violence, assaults, or the destruction of property. We encourage everyone to celebrate responsibly, respect one another, and obey the law so these events remain safe for everyone. Deputies will continue to be strategically deployed throughout LA County for Mexico's next World Cup match on Sunday to help ensure safe celebrations while maintaining public order.

Anyone who witnessed assaults on deputies or members of the public, or who has photos or video that may assist investigators, is encouraged to contact the Sheriff's Department at (562) 946-7893. Those wishing to remain anonymous may contact "Crime Stoppers" by calling (800) 222-TIPS (8477), submitting a tip through the P3 Tips mobile app, orvisiting lacrimestoppers.org.

SoCal forecast: There will be a gradual warming trend that will develop heading into the Fourth of July holiday over the weekend.

NorCal forecast: It’s a pleasant start to Friday across the Sacramento region, with clear skies, a light breeze, and cool morning temperatures helping ease into the day. After the recent stretch of mild weather, temperatures are expected to return to seasonable values this afternoon. Friday’s Valley high in Sacramento is forecast to reach 92 degrees, right on par with the normal high for this time of year. A few clouds may linger at times, and there is a slight chance of an isolated thunderstorm in the Sierra, mainly south of Highway 50.

Michael Bon, a 33-year-old Haitian illegal alien from Massachusetts, is accused of killing Pennsylvania State Trooper Michael Pahira Jr. in a deadly July 2 crash involving two tractor-trailers. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed Bon has been in the U.S. illegally since June 2025 after his parole and TPS application were denied. He faces multiple charges, including involuntary manslaughter, and is being held on $700,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 16.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the off-duty passing of one of our own. Sergeant Brett Miller, a 21-year veteran of the Kentucky State Police, passed away at his residence in Murray, KY on July 1, 2026.

Sgt. Miller began his career with the Kentucky State Police in 2005 upon graduating KSP Cadet Class 85. He had previously served with the Graves County Sheriff's Office beginning in 1999, as well as dedicating time to the Calloway County Sheriff's Office before joining the Kentucky State Police.

During his time with KSP, Sgt. Miller served selflessly in his roles as a trooper, detective, squad sergeant, detective sergeant, and canine sergeant. He has received honors such as being named the Post 1 Detective of the Year in 2013 and the state-wide KSP Detective of the Year in 2014.

Rest Easy Brother. Prayers for his family of blue and blood.πŸ™πŸ»
