NEW: The San Antonio Police Department confirmed a wanted suspect is dead and an officer was injured during a felony traffic stop on the northwest side.
Around 2:20 p.m., officials pulled over a vehicle the 4700 block of Wurzbach Road for a felony traffic stop
Preliminary information from SAPD suggests a wanted 19-year-old suspect shot and killed himself after being pulled over. Police reportedly performed life-saving measures on the suspect before he was pronounced dead on the scene.
SAPD said when the responding officers were pulling the suspect out of the vehicle, it wasn't put in park and ran over an officer's foot. The officer is being evaluated but is okay, according to SAPD.
The suspect was wanted on an assault family violence warrant and had been previously arrested for evading in a vehicle.
This is an ongoing investigation.
Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for the officer's recoveryππ»

π¦ Did you know you can see zebras in California?
POV: On our drive along Highway 1 near Hearst Castle in San Simeon, we were lucky enough to spot hundreds of zebras grazing on the hillsides! These zebras are descendants of animals from William Randolph Hearstβs private zoo and now roam freely across the ranchland.

βAnd, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof. And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.β

Shooting into the air is not a celebration - it is a danger.
Bullets do not just disappear; every bullet fired skyward comes down with the same force it went up. It is not a victimless action. Falling rounds can damage homes, cars and even injure or kill someone blocks away. This 4th of July please celebrate responsibly, keep our community safe and leave the gunfire out of the festivities.

Iowaβs new law removes the statewide annual bias-prevention training requirement for law enforcement officers while preserving annual de-escalation training.
The change reverses part of a 2020 police reform package and leaves local departments free to require additional training beyond state minimum standards.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of retired Anaheim Police Chief John Welter, who passed away peacefully yesterday morning at the age of 77 following health complications.
Chief Welter served as the 32nd Chief of Police for the Anaheim Police Department from 2004 to 2013. During his tenure, he led with vision and a deep commitment to the department and the City of Anaheim.
A lifelong motorcycle officer at heart, he became the first Anaheim Police Chief to regularly patrol on a police motorcycle, demonstrating that leadership meant serving alongside those he led.
Rest Easy Brother. Prayers for his family of blue and blood.ππ»
