WATCH: President Donald J. Trump participates in Theodore Roosevelt Library opening.
"Today, we come to the heartland of America to pay tribute to a man who embodied the heart, and soul, and fight, and spirit of our country as much as anyone who ever lived... President Theodore Roosevelt." πΊπΈ
"Here beneath the wide-open sky of the Badlands... on the steps of the Burning Hills, we dedicate a living monument to a Legend, a Statesman, a Soldier, a Frontiersman, and a true American Hero," says POTUS in North Dakota.
"There could be no better place for this new national treasure than the Rough Rider State... Today, 107 years after he passed into eternity, Theodore Rooseveltβs Presidential Library opens its doors, and the small town... of Medora opens its arms to the entire world."
"This afternoon, I am pleased to announce that through the National Endowment for the Humanities, we will be awarding the Library $750,000 dollars to support the opening exhibits during this first year."
"As a young boy, Lincolnβs casket would pass through a nation torn apart by Civil War, and by the end of his sixty years, T.R. had transformed this country by the reach of his vision and by the force of his will into one of the greatest empires, ready to take its rightful place as the strongest, and most respected nation in the world... And today, America is stronger and more respectedβright now!"
"Our ancestors were the people who raised up New York City from the marshes of Manhattan, and then ventured into the Dakotas to carve up a life in the place they called 'Hell with the Fires Burned Out.'" πΊπΈ
"Theodore Roosevelt reminds us all that to be a great nation, and to be a free nation, we must have courage... As T.R. once put it, 'Freedom is not a gift that lasts long in the hands of cowards.'"
"In his Library, we find his Diary open to the page from 1884 when his mother and his wife died on the very same day in the very same house... 'The light has gone out of my life,' he wrote. But Theodore Roosevelt did not surrender to fateβhe came here to Medora and made himself fateβs master... he really showed that that's what Americans can do."
"Theodore Roosevelt believed in an America that worked. He refused to accept failure, mediocrity, corruption, decay, or declineβand neither should we."
"As we enter the 250th Year, Americans must never forget we are a historic and heroic people, with a heroic spirit, and a heroic purpose... American Courage won our independence, it liberated millions and millions from slavery, rescued billions from tyranny, and sustained American Liberty for two and a half centuriesβand we're not going to lose it to this group of losers... Without courage, there is no America today."
"Theodore Roosevelt understood that grand and righteous ambition is not a vice, it is an American virtue, and it won us our country, and it has been among the greatest forces for good... A nation, like an individual, either rises or falls, builds or decays, lives or dies by this."
"T.R. was also a staunch and ferocious opponent of a thing called Communism... He said, 'The doctrines of Communistic Socialism, if consistently followed, mean the ultimate annihilation of civilization.' As we're seeing now, Communism is the Greatest Threat to our Country including... World War I, World War II, Pearl Harbor, September 11th... We will NEVER let the United States become a Communist country!"
Nothing like a TRUMP DANCE to mark the opening of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library. πΊπΈ

Deputy Rachel Marginean didnβt grow up with a family law enforcement legacy.
Despite initial resistance from her parents, she decided to become a police cadet at just 15 years old, joining a program for high school students interested in law enforcement careers.
βMy father came to the U.S. at age 14 to escape communism,β said Marginean, who insists her familyβs story of resilience has continually shaped her journey as a Multnomah County deputy.
Itβs been 10 years since she joined the cadets, and Deputy Marginean says she knows it was the right decision.
