NEW: The FBI has reportedly determined the original ransom notes tied to Nancy Guthrie's disappearance were fake, according to a new Reuters report citing two FBI sources.
The report says investigators concluded the initial notes sent to media outlets were not authentic, though the FBI has not publicly commented and Reuters says it's still unclear how investigators reached that conclusion. Federal sources have previously distinguished those notes from later communications in the case.
Meanwhile, a California man accused of sending extortion texts and calls to the Guthrie family after Nancy's disappearance is expected to plead guilty in federal court tomorrow.

NEW: King County prosecutors said they have refiled aggravated murder and attempted murder charges against Henry Eugene Washington in the 2020 Bothell police shooting that killed Officer Jonathan Shoop and injured Officer Mustafa Kumcur.
Washington was charged Friday with aggravated murder in the first degree with a firearm enhancement, attempted murder in the first degree with a firearm enhancement and vehicular assault.
The vehicular assault charge is connected to another man, who court documents say was hit by Washingtonβs car during the incident. Prosecutors are asking that Washington be held without bail.
In court filings, they said the aggravated murder and attempted murder charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison, and that a conviction for aggravated murder in the first degree would require a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
The case stems from a July 2020 traffic stop in Bothell.

WATCH: FBI Director Kash Patel and members of the Department of Justice provide an update on their investigation and 'takedown' of the notorious migrant gang.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche announces the charges against EIGHT Tren de Aragua (TdA) members from Venezuela who came here illegally during the Biden administration and allegedly committed vicious kidnappings and murders in separate cases out of Texas and Illinois. None of these men should have been in this country.
"These violent crimes and murders happened because, under the Biden administration, open-border policies left our borders wide open, and hundreds of suspected (and now convicted) TdA terrorists poured through those borders into our country. POTUS stopped this madness on January 20 of last year. That same day, President Trump designated TdA as a Foreign Terrorist Organization. In the 18 months since January 20 β nearly 350 members and associates of TdA have been charged and/or convicted of horrific violent crimes."
"We've arrested 29,000 violent gang members since President Trump was sworn in."
FBI Director Kash Patel says the bureau has helped dismantle 2,700 gangs nationwide since President Trump took office, calling it a 365% increase over the same point in the previous administration.
Patel also said arrests tied to Venezuela's Tren de Aragua gang are up 519%, with hundreds of alleged members arrested on charges ranging from kidnapping and murder to drug trafficking and firearms offenses.
"We are safeguarding American citizens and American communities because President Trump decided to put law enforcement first."
