Luna has officially fledged!
Just one day after his sibling Sandy took her first flight, Luna took to the skies from Jackie and Shadowβs famous nest in San Bernardino National Forest.
After watching Sandyβs less-than-graceful first flight the day before (see our earlier video!), it seems Luna was ready for his own big moment.
Both eaglets are expected to remain in the area for several weeks as they continue building strength and practice their flying skills before eventually leaving the nest territory on their own.
What an exciting season to watch unfold. π¦

βThe night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.β

BREAKING: SCOTUS strikes down President Trump's executive order limiting birthright citizenship in 5-4 decision. Justices Roberts and Barrett joined the liberals. From the majority opinion:
"Children born in the United States to parents unlawfully or temporarily present are βsubject to the jurisdictionβ of the United States and are citizens at birth under the Fourteenth Amendmentβs Citizenship Clause."
During border coverage, we saw a lot of women who were very obviously in late term pregnancies who were crossing the river illegally, likely knowing that giving birth on US soil would immediately give their child US citizenship.
There have been instances where women have given birth at Border Patrol stations immediately after being apprehended.

New polling cited by NSSF points to a shift in the gun debate: many Americans are putting more emphasis on enforcing existing laws, prosecuting violent criminals, and holding repeat offenders accountable than on adding new restrictions.
It is a message gun-control groups and politicians may not be able to ignore.

The Los Angeles Police Departmentβs Force Investigation Division is investigating an Officer-Involved Shooting that occurred in Hollenbeck Division.
On May 16, 2026, at around 1:45 a.m., Hollenbeck Patrol Division uniformed police officers responded to a radio call of an Assault with a Deadly Weapon in progress at a residence in the 3000 block Glenn Avenue.
Upon arrival, the officers were met by a family member of the suspect outside of the suspectβs residence. While officers were conducting their investigation, the suspect, later identified as 40-year-old Robert Velasquez, emerged from the residence with two knives and a grilling fork. The officers gave verbal commands to Velasquez to drop the weapons, but he did not comply. Velasquez threw one of the knives in the officersβ direction and while still armed with one knife and the grilling fork, an Officer-Involved Shooting occurred.
Velasquez fell to the ground momentarily and began to get back up to his feet, still holding the knife and grilling fork resulting in a second Officer-Involved Shooting. Velasquez was struck by gunfire, collapsed onto the ground, but refused to submit to arrest. Velasquez sat up and began moving toward the front door of the residence resulting in the use of an intermediate force option. The intermediate force option was successful, and Velasquez was taken into custody.
The officers rendered medical aid until the arrival of Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics. Los Angeles Fire Department personnel arrived at scene and transported Velasquez to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Two knives and a grilling fork were recovered at the scene and booked as evidence. No community members or officers were injured during this incident.
Force Investigation Division personnel responded and assumed investigative responsibility.
